The two men surged forward to strike Marko and he dropped into a defensive crouch, but they stopped as the figure sitting behind the desk raised his hand.
"Mr. Debreault is here as our guest. You will treat him as such," he said in an impenetrable accent.
He had been a fool to come here, Marko thought. But it had seemed like a good idea at the time . . .
12 hours earlier
The blue light of Marko's comms panel called his attention to an incoming communique on a restricted channel. This is how trouble starts, Marko thought.
He tapped the respond button and was surprised to see Evil Thug's face. Thug was the legendary leader of a lethal, highly skilled terrorist group who called themselves Rage and Terror. He was rumoured to be connected to the black market and criminal underground, and his ability to steal from the most secure of the deadspace pirate complexxes was unparalleled.
Marko and his corporation had fought against Evil Thug's minions in many small skirmishes over the years. They were not allies, but they did not actively oppose each other, either. Marko waited for Thug to begin.
"I have a proposition for you," Thug said. His voice sounded like rocks breaking; his accent was inscrutable. "I know you recently had a war of retribution with Ascendant Frontier. I have intel on the movements of an ASCN capital ship fleet. I know where they will be, what they will be doing, and how to destroy them . . . do I have your attention, Mr. Debreault?"
They arranged a meeting at Concord Logistics Support station in Agil, the heart of the clandestine Rage and Terror network.

The two goons stepped back, and Marko turned his attention to Evil Thug. Smoke from Thug's cigar seemed to pulsate in time to the music from the night club below. Getting in had been easy; the long waiting line of revelers watched enviously as Marko was greeted by the two goons and led into the depths of this club which served as a front for RAT activities in the South.
A slender man stood off to Thug's left. He had been Amarrian, but Marko could see he was now a member of the Collective; Marko recognized him from old intel reports as Copeland, a gifted pod pilot and public face of the hive mind. The Collective used cybernetic mind links in all their pilots; they were more and less than human, rumoured to think as a single entity, even though they were many individual pilots. Marko had fought them many times, but he kept his opinions to himself. He nodded at Copeland. Copeland remained impassive.
Today Thug sounded like a small earthquake. "This Ascendant Frontier and their allies in Axiom Empire, they will come to kill my Starbases in E3-SDZ. We have opportunity here - they will come to fight, and we can show them what it is to fight."
They explained their ideas. Shifu of the Stain Empire joined them via holo link and a plan emerged . . .
16 hours later . . .
His onboard health systems pumped chemicals into his bloodstream and pod compounds to conteract adrenaline poisoning. His mind still functioned crystal clearly, but later he would pay. Hours of tension had climaxxed in a battle in N-CREL at the E3-SDZ gate, and now his overview was filled with hundreds of smoking ruins of destroyed ships. Scintillating warp disruption spheres held dozens of frozen corpses in their hypnotic embrace.
Of the 20 TOXIN battleships who had volunteered, only 8 had been present for the fight, and three of those had been destroyed. Two TOXIN pilots had been podded. But there was no doubt about the outcome of the battle. ASCN and their allies were broken for the present. The criminal ransoming of an agent of Outbreak by an agent of ASCN continued to earn interest, and the worth of a big gun continued to prove itself.

Thats utterly pathetic. What do u have for FC's? Lemmings? I cannot for the life of me begin to understand how any1 can be so thick as to outnumber an enemy, and lose by that amount.
You dont even need a tactical or even good FC. All you need is one with common sense, and you would have done far better than you did.
Its gone beyond a joke, FC'ing is easy, I cant understand why you still havent managed to get any good ones.

Later, when AXE fleet was destroyed, ASCN came to help their comrades. They jumped to us, and appeared on their own bubbles. Everything else - was matter of technique.
Total score
Kills : 88 - 93 battleships + 3 carriers killed (too hard to count really. 4 different KBs).
Losses : 8 battleships.
Props for CCP for NON Laggy battle (40 vs 70, and activation delay were like... 0.1 second).
Thanks to our friends for helping us.
Jesus if thats true then thats an impressive performance.
And nice to know there was no lag :D

Yeah, what the hell is all this "there was no lag" you speak of?
I cant sit at a gate in Gem with 10 ships without having 3-10 sec mod lag
but you can have a (close to) 100'ed man fight with little to no lag?
Can we PLEASE have some serious distribution of power here? 
Anyway, I'm off to bed, things to see, people to do and all that.
