Im bored and the test servers down. Anyways ive smashed my friend in 1 on 1's on the test server and want to go for an apoc. (As my geddon had no trouble ripping up his tempest). I was thinking this for TQ.
HI- 7x Mega Pulse Laser II
Mids- 3x Cap Recharger II's and a Domination Webber
Lows- MAR II LAR II, 2x EANM II , Explosive Hardener, Kinetic Hardener and a Faction CPR (or best named until I can find a faction mod)

You make me want to jump off a ten story building...
First of all, you want to fit eight of the biggest guns you can find without sacrificing your setup.
Secondly you're setting up to tank so have a rack of cap recharger IIs. This ship won't survive solo, so don't bother with a webifier.
In the bottom have at least two LARs IIs, instead of having several hardeners have 2 x EANM IIs and a Damage Control. With decent skills this is going to give you about 45% to all resists. Unless you're setup for npcing you should really need damage specific hardeners. In the rest of your slots you could add in damage modules or CPRs to get your tank running.
If you're going for damage then the apoc isn't the best ship in the world, of course if you want a less sustainable setup you want to put in sensor boosters and capacitor boosters.

Agent PvE i have begun doubting the reliance on cap relays for a good tank. This after being a big 2x hardener + armor repairers + all the cap I can fit for a long time. But ive come to belive if your facing rats with just two damage types then 2x2 active hardeners is going to be a better tank then 2x1 active hardeners + 2 cap relays.
The upward potential of the tank is better with the 4x hardeners but its less flexible in a couple ways. 1) if you start getting hit with a damage type you didnt bring a hardener for then you will wish you had the cap relays and more repairers. 2) you also have to let go of the feeling that just cause you run "x+x indefinatly" you are more powerful. Certainly your tank will be stronger if properly hardened but theres no way youll run two repairers very long and should prolly just skip the second if your going this route. Often with a super hardener emphasis I cant run the afterburner and the armor repairer II with the guns forever. But the damage I can absorb is higher over time even with less cap.
Basically if your wondering "what can i do to tank this level 4 better" then often times I think its going to be 2 sets of 2 racial specific hardeners.
This looked like a build with pvp type influences though =)

Edited by: Cruz on 27/06/2006 04:14:46 PVE Tank? Fit 5 Hardeners, DCU and LAR II. Runs like a champ ;-)
For PVP go NOSPOC, 4 Mega Pulse IIS + 4 HEAVY NOS.

Edit : Is it just me, or are the forums screwing up for everybody?
There's 8 turrets on an Apoc, using them all = more damage. Even if it means dropping 2 mega pulse lasers off to fit 3 dual heavy pulse. It's still more damage.
Drop the cap power relay 2s in mids. Fit a cap booster instead. Domination webbers cost more than the rest of your ship combined, do you need it?
For your mids I'd go Heavy electrochemical cap booster, ECCM and whatever you like in the last 2 (ECCM, webber, tracking disruptor, another cap booster, sensor booster, disruptor).
For lows go for 2 LARs, a damage control, 2 heat sinks (gives you over 40% more damage) and 2 EAN2s or an explosive and an EAN2.

Ive got a few geddons so another one will be pointless. As for the domination webber, ive already got one but Im thinking about using a fleeting instead. And for the turrets I screwed up, I thought I was on a geddon for a sec. 7 turrets ftl.

Don't underestimate the Apoc.
1 extta midslot (1 lowslot less of course). More armour, way more cap. 1 extra turret makes up for some of the lost ROF. Better fitting. Slightly higher sensor strength, etc.
Lots of fringe benefits on the Apoc, and all it loses is a bit of drone space, and a small bit of damage (if indeed you do lose damage). An extra turret gives you 12.5% extra damage, straight away.
