i usually fit mine like a mini tempest with 2 ecm's in the last med slots (after the mwd, web, scram) and a weak armor tank. Only problem is it can be inconsistent. When it works, it really really works, but when it doesn't you can die pretty quick to a high dmg ship

I *have* a stabber...
I just don't like it when the Rupture is, you know... right there. Begging me to fly it. ---------------------------- The opinions expressed by Nico do not reflect his corporation. He's just an ass.

A while back I decided that vaga's were getting too expensive (when they started costing like 120 mil...LOL) So I bought a stabber bpo and decided to make them work.
Drosssk and I setup in shiny new stabbers and we had fun on our first trip out, managed to kill a BS. But then we quickly lost lots and lots of stabbers.
So now we're back on the vagabonds. The bottom line is: stabbers crumble faster than a paper bag when somebody starts hitting you hard. With good skills and wierd fittings you can make them somewhat useful, but they're rarely better than an interceptor.

Without being able to use good reps OR armor hardeners, I took a Stabber out to Mara. I'm surprised I got back. ---------------------------- The opinions expressed by Nico do not reflect his corporation. He's just an ass.

I'm trying to think of a time when I would choose a Cyclone over some other T1 ship like a Rupture or Tempest.
I cant really think of any.
Maybe against a goonfleet style sniper frig zerg...naa, even then cruiser guns on a phoon would be better.

I find matari's specialization is that there not specialized if that makes sense? I mean being too specialized generally makes u strong in one aspect and weak in another, like armour\shield resistances really heh, matari are generally evened out enabaling you to set your ship up with most of the current trends of eve.
Missles\turrets\drones, shield or armour tank, EW or Tank.
Thats my personal opinion of the matari race. They take the best parts of all races, not duplicating there tech perfectly, but enuf so that its better than the other 2 races.
There ability to change there setups with the changes of eve.
How long were blasters 'supposidly' broke? matari have had broken mods\ships, but theres generally always been another ship to fall back on.
Thats why im starting to love em anyways
Tho i dont reccommend training for them unless your adept in another race first strangly enuf, just easier to convert imho --------------------------------------------------------

Rifter Vigil Rifter, again Rupture Did I mention the Rifter? Tempest (Still training for it but I hear good things)
I had 6 months of my Eve career flying Gallente ships PvE, and the Minmatar ones I'm flying now are much more fun PvP

It certainly has limited uses... But I think it's fun to fly for a cruiser, as a poor man's vagabond... If it is performing well in a lot of circumstances is probably a completely different deal. Also, I have indeed very few opportunities to fly it, because often i'll have to use another ship with a broader set of abilities... Still, I like them.

It's a bit of an in-joke - to be good with Minmatar requires you to train both forms of tanking and all 3 weapon systems, hence the "we specialize in everything".

/me hugs his Claw. IMHO its THE close range killer frig, I love it very much. A winner vs taranii in 1v1 with barrage and magnetic plating, several times proven.
A kestrel with T1 rockets and a med shield extender can kill a close range plated claw without getting past half shield.
Even the Taranis is better than that.
Yes, there are people who suck with every ship, your point? I've fought many many kessies and none have ever even seriously challenged my Claw.

If it is targetted first for dmg then maybe but it will also cause the most dmg on a bs of any other ceptor.

Allot of their ships are versitile and capable of doing many things (which leads to people whining that they can't do anything at a spectacular level)
Some of their ships do shine through tho. as stated above, they have some truely awe inspireing ships, once you know how to use them.
Edit: and shame on you Sarmul for not mentioning the Rifter.
Minmatar ships can do whatever you want they would do, you just need to point your whole fitting to that purpose. -=-

Stabber is a very cool ship methinks. Cheap, very good at the anti-frig role and so fast it's a pleasure flying it around. Love to take one for a ride in 0.0, and I very rarely go back in a pod due to the fact it *can* be made rather sturdy while keeping it's mobility. With the right skills that is, as the case is with all minmatar ships.
