Quick question for you PvPers...
I recently stepped into my new Stabber Cruiser and am going all close range auttocannons. I have always used EMP and Titanium ammo mixed because I figured it would be better to do both shield and armor dmg rather than just one type. The decision isnt based on anything I have read and I am running my choice past you guys to make sure its the correct thing to do. I will be moving into lower sec space and want to make sure im using the right ammo. So... for 4 auttocannons... would you guys mix ammo types or just stick with one hybrid type like EMP?

Well it depends on the NPCs you're fighting.
Phased Plasma, Fusion, and EMP are short range ammo types, and people usually switch between them for various different enemies. You could also mix them. Fusion is choice for breaking armor tanks, and Phased Plasma is great against Serpentis and Guristas.

I usually have a few different ammo types in my cargo hold, but when I'm actually fighting I only have one type in that complements my optimum range.
If you ever have the opportunity to use the highest damage / shortest range ammo, then by all means use it -- especially if you are using autocannons (i.e. not sniping).

How do you tell what range capabilites a certain ammo type has?
I guess I have been slightly confused at the range thing... a gun has optimal range of say 8000m but a falloff accuracy of 6000m ... what does that really mean exactly?

In their attributes listing (info) you will have section range where there is a number. -50% to +-50% I think. This is how ammo will affect your effective range.
8000 meters is the optimal range, accuracy falloff is the range at which your chances to hit are 50% from what they were on optimal range (IE, if you had 100% hit on 8000 meters and target is at 14 000 meters you will have 50% chance to hit)

Read the tracking guide.
Beyond optimal range = Falloff determines your hit chance Below optimal range = Nothing matters, your hit chance is 100%, ignoring tracking Anywhere = tracking matters, no matter what
