No not particularly.
If it was different I wouldn't care, even though as this is my main, I still use this name on voice comms even when logged in on an alt instead. But that's just a convenience, not something I really care about.

I'm with Scipio on this one. This happens to be a name I ended up with, but I (unfortunately) end up being identifiable no matter what handle I'm under.
I think in EVE, more than other games of its kind, what you do is much more important than your name. After all, what the heck is a "Mittani" and why is there a "The" in front of it? Same for "Chribba" and "Awox".. these have meaning to us because of the stories associated with them that are told over and over as part of EVE culture.

When I started, I created an entire story for the character. All characters after that (including this one) had to fit in.
To me it matters.
Honesty bids me to inform you, I'm usually called "dude" tho.

I care for mine as I've been called it by a lot of people now who I trust and/or hold quite dear to me.
It's hard to have lived your entire EvE life in null/low sec and NOT form ties with people. At fanfest last year it was the most natural thing in the world to be called Sam by these people despite it being very different from my actual name.
Even some of my friends have started calling me Sam as we have another friend with the same real name as me and I've adopted sam vimes as my steam name as well.
Basically it IS my name now not just my character.
If you've never tried PvP in EvE it's quite possible you've missed out on one of the greatest rushes available in modern gaming. |

Basically, when you spend half your life dealing with incompetent and unreliable people, you figure it's easier to just do everything yourself and **** everyone else off. At that point, you know longer really give a **** what anyone thinks.
