Is there any way to set up the Overview so it will sort by say "Name", and then by "Range"?
Would be nice to organize all the Cargo Containers together in the overview, or NPC's.. etc.
Thanks

If you sort by range and then by name, it will do that. The only issue is that it sorts by the first number in each entry etc. So a can at 10km will be sorted between the ones at 1000m and 2000m. It results in some mixing of cans further out from the ones closer in, but it's easy enough to pick the ones you want out.

Thanks. Think I had tried that, and saw the cans mixed up so figured it didn't work.
Thanks again

Edited by: Natas Dog on 29/06/2006 14:50:44 Yeah, I thought it was broken too, until I started watching it and saw that a 10km can would move to the bottom of the list when I got within 9999 meters. It could be better I suppose, but it gets the job done. I tend to sort by Type then distance now instead of name, so I can keep things like PC ships and rats near the top of the list instead of in alpha order. Works out better for me when mining and/or just watching my back.
Edit: typos

I just want to add that the way I deal with this most of the time is with multiple saved overviews and switching between them. For instance, I've got one thats 'tactical' which is pretty much nothing but NPCs and player ships. Another called 'cans' which is all of that plus cargo containers. Another called 'survey' with all of that plus stations, belts, and gates...and so on. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
