Is there any trick to this? Do I have to leave some of the NPC's
alive for the mission to respawn after DT? Or can I destroy
everything and simply not return to my agent? I was hoping to run
Angel 'Ganza a few times, but I killed everything and now the gate
disappeared after DT.

after downtime missions that arent completed will respawn yes

Because they're typical humans. Selfish, greedy, lazy, and always taking the easy option even if it wasn't supposed to exist.

deadspace missions will respawn completely at dt.
any non-DS missions with multiple parts will respawn only those parts that are shown as uncompleted in your journal. for example if u r doing blockade and kill waves 1,2 and 3 but dont manage to kill wave 4 before dt u will restart the mission at wave 4 afterwards.

There was no evidence that the OP was planning to the farm the mission, it was just a question.
Maybe he has a hard one and just didn't get it done before DT.
How about a little humanity before jumping on people?

Funny, I think typical humans are industrious, generous, and make good decisions. Every form of making isk is farming. I farm the labor of everyone in the regions where I dominate the market.

Interesting observation from the other day.
Usually, if a mission isn't completed prior to DT it will respawn after. On Mordus Headhunters the other day, i completed the first stage and got i think 3 or 4 ships in the second before i had to dock. Came back, and the first bit was clear, and the second was full but didn't aggro like usual.
In comparison, next time i did it i cleared the first stage but didn't start on the second, and the entire mission respawned. So i think it depends on where you get to.
That's the limit to my experience though, i don't usually accept a mission if i think i'm going to get stuck halfway. I like to get them done and get another.

Missions have 'stages'. If you complete a stage it wont respawn. Each objective is a stage, if your objective is "Kill this angel bunker" and you kill everything but the bunker it will respawn, if you only kill the bunker nothing will respawn.

I started Worlds Collide today and didn't get it finished before downtime. When I got back on I had the message *Objectives Completed* from my agent. The deadspace complex had disappeared and I now have no way of collecting the crew to take back to the agent.
Methinks CCP afre trying to stop the farmingg but haven't really thought it through

on worlds collide as soon as u kill the small group that auto aggros u in the area where the damaged heron is u have done enough to complete the mission and retrieve the crew.
u do not have to kill all the rats to complete that mission.
its been that way since the mission was introduced.
