Why would a veteran repair a ship in station? AFAIK thats entirely a noob thing. Unless it's your own station, and then it's free.

When he says things like...
I remember when zydrine was less than 1k. The first time I was podkilled, it was by a Moa. It was much harder back then to make money. It was much harder before they added the gate from New Caldari to Nonni. We used to use mines at JIPs. I remember selling Miner IIs for more than 6m each. Providence used to have decent ores.

This thread made me feel old
- Remember when you had to go out into 0.0 to find cruiser npc rats to kill.
- Remember SpaceInvaders.
- When missions had a 15min timer before you could accept another one and no killmissions at all. (Not to mention paying a total of 50k for a lvl 3 mission, but after 573 it gave a miner II bpo.)
- When transversal and sig-radius did not exist.
And probably a lot of other things I can't remember ^^

ahaha. one of my favorite stories:
shortly after getting my first battleship, a scorpion, i ended up in my first large fleet battle in whatever system leads into khanid from wherever you come when you're coming from curse. some guy was fleeing and i was trying to get all my torps on him and clicking away and somehow i managed to click my pod out of my ship. and then my pod got splashed by a torp. one of my torps. so, i podded myself and my ship was floating around in space and my clone was like 25 jumps out.
thankfully someone grabbed my ship and moved it to a moon.

You must mean:
When there were no Battleship NPCs, and 50k cruiser rats could only be found on the outer fringes of 0.0 space.
... and you killed them in (any battleship) fitted with Tachyons, because all the other long range turrets sucked so badly.

He is not king. I am King. Check my official CONCORD biography. What does the title say? That's rigt, King. Therefore, he is my subject. You may wish to inform him of this fact to prevent his further wasting of your time with ten minute rants about his being what he is not.

Used mines as missile shields.
Blew up a corp mate because he flew between you and your target.
saved a torpedo blackbird for "someone special"
8 MWD's on a scorp doing 30 AU a sec.
Jammed a sentry gun.
Tanked sentries for hours.
Remote repped someone tanking sentries for hours.
Remembers what assault launchers were a frigate weapon.

Edited by: Boonaki on 06/07/2006 09:20:16 Blew up someone by them hitting approuch, and you dropping mines while you MWD away.
Someone watching someone mining, the person mining warped off to grab the hauler, they dropped mines all around their can then docked. When they returned they were blown up by the mines and the person dropping the mines not getting blown up (it's an exploit now to not get blown up by CONCORD(one reason we'll never see mines again))
Getting random sec status hits because someone found one of your mines. But no clue who or where.

When he remembers the brief days of bugged 420 Howitzers (4 or 500 damage with just a month's worth of skills. They were since replaced with the dreaded 650's.
Beta Armageddon and the build up to that day.
Beta Character wipes. When you would come home to play beta eve and your player was totally gone. . .had to start all over.
One beta system that was one of the hubs of combat. . ."Podion". . .some of you have to know that system
Mara and Passari. . . The days of old when blockades would last weeks.
Being able t oload a single cruise missle in your heavy launcher.

When you couldnt really armour tank things (/me remembers back to his first shield tanked thorax) Actually i remember the first time I tried to armour tank it....was frightening! up until that point shields = life.
When ABs and MWDs wernt split by class (ie no Frigate sized or cruiser sized)
When he remembers the 40+ jumps through 0.0 in a hauler full of ore to get high end ore back to empire for refining. because there were no stations out there.
When he remembers the old interface where you had to switch from low/mid/high.
When he remembers when it was possible for people to be "famous" - hi TankCEO, LordZap, and Swisher btw o/
When NPC's used to "chain" and respawn faster and faster if you left one alive.
When he remembers the days when there were only: frigates, cruisers, battleships and industrials. And most people were in frigates desparately mining for cruisers.
