So CCP just announced Ice is being removed from high sec space. It's pretty predicatble that this means that topes prices will rise, probably significantly. If someone had the capital, would it be a good time to buy up today's lower priced topes in anticipation of that rise? |

As long as it's including 0.9 and 1.0 systems it should affect prices as those are the only ones where you can really afk mine. Macro or farming ops will probably have to shift to ore in those areas instead, which is why prices on topes will rise.
I doubt if CCP would make them sub-0.5, but who knows? |

Seems to be happening already. When I first logged in, the average price in Jita for various topes was 220-230. It's now up to 290 ... |

Well if you find topes for a good price, pick them up. Hold for a bit and then put back out on market for a higher rate. It used to be that topes went for 500-600, not sure they'll get that high again, but certainly should be better than 200! |

Originally by: kieron Heck, at this point, I don't even know how far the ice removal is going to go, that is still being discussed by the game design team.
You're right, high traffic systems only ... for now. |

Originally by: Pluppo Prices will rise, just because a lot of people are buying up all available isotopes in empire. Once there are none left, the people who bought the stuff should make a nice profit selling it, regardless of ice fields dissapearing or not.
Seems to be happening already - we've seen about a 33% rise in price in the Forge region since the announcement, and it's still rising. |
