Edited by: Plutoinum on 30/06/2006 15:44:55 Systems with icefields in 0.5 and higher: 201
Number of systems with icefields:
in 0.5: 44 systems in 0.6: 43 systems in 0.7: 39 systems in 0.8: 50 systems in 0.9: 20 systems in 1.0: 5 systems
based on eve explorer
If they remove some, there are enough left, because ice roids never deplete afaik ( except the ones that are going to be removed now. )

For now, but this is going to change as well.
Originally by: kieron There are other fields that will suffer the same fate in the near future.

I understand it that more ice fields might be removed by CCP in the same way later, but Kieron doesn't say that the remaining ice fields/roids are ever changed to contain only a limited amount of ice. We'll see.

Ice roids do pop. You need 20+ miners and some hours.

BRAINWAVE!!!!!!!
Remove all empire ice belts and leave one giant ice cube hovering over Jita 4 moon 4 Caldari Navy Station and watch everyone jostling to fit their ice miners around it, and watch the miners skittling away as the haulers patrol back and forth.
Then organise fleets of suicide bomberthrons or somesuch and have competitions to see who can pop the most macroers before Concord nukes them
Jita local would be hillarious!!! Filesize too big. Mail [email protected] for info - Cathath What happens if I do this? - Andros

See kieron's post in the sticky thread:
Quote: There were five systems affected by the depletion, Sobaseki, Scolluzer, Inoue, Kakakela and Tash-Murkon Prime.

Originally by: ns10 I don't get it...remove Ice Fields to stop people macro mining them.... but leave the biggest and worst macro mined system for ice in game....Jita ????
Its all part of the plan. Get all the macro miniers in jita, give the active players in space a warning to get out of the system, and close the incoming gates. trigger the stations jump drives and use the sun as a extra large smart bomb to deal with the problem.
