Don't bother to long with stuff other people write about how they see eve o in this case mittens typical whining about other people having more big toys as him. Because his conclusions are wrong and despite his claims he doesn't want a better eve for everyone but only a better eve for gsf.
Even if ccp would remove all supers and titans today it wouldn't change anything for anybody outside of the established powerblocs. A thrid party still wouldn't have a chance to take sov from either goons or N3PL. The only thing that would probably change is the balance of power between both blocs in favor for the cfc. |

Emma Muutaras wrote: problem is if you get rid of ALL supers eve inherently reverts back to N+1 the side with the most pilots are likely going to win in the long run yes smaller groups might get the odd win but there not gonna win the war.
It's that way right now anyway. The only difference is that this one has a price tag and opportunity cost that guarantees that no small group can hack it.
Quote: N+1 shouldn't be the be all and end all, yes it should help but it shouldn't give you a automatic victory like it currently does.
The major force multiplier can either be numbers or pricetag, take your pick. Personally I think numbers is far better than pricetag. Supers turn it into both numbers and pricetag, have both or don't even bother.
And don't make me laugh by offering "skill" up instead. This isn't a flight sim, this is Civilization with real people. With TiDi the game may as well be turn based. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

Yep - maybe maturity is catching up with him - it's about time You say that like he's never had a good idea about the direction of EVE. Go back and read some of his commentary on EVE around about the time of the Incarna debacle.
I couldn't give a **** about all the retards going apeshit over some pixel pants, but Mittani's Sins of a Solar Spymaster was by far the most insightful EVE blog at the time. |

It is significantly harder to defend large swathes of SOV without a blob of effectively invulnerable repping machines that can reach any part of space very very quickly. Very few can amass enough supercaps to challenge either us or N3/PL. Anybody can churn out T1 battleships. We (Goons) can field just as big a super/titan/capital blob as N3/PL, maybe bigger. Doing away with all that would actually weaken us.
Who knows, maybe even TEST could claw back some of its... no, sorry, couldn't finish that without laughing.

How was the Tech nerf only beneficial to GSF? I mean, apart from us booting you bads out of fountain of course. This post was lovingly crafted by a member of the Goonwaffe Posting Cabal & proud member of the popular gay hookup site, somethingawful.com |

Riyria Twinpeaks wrote:If you define expanding and having fun in EVE solely as gaining sov, and you don't want to join any corp/alliance which is large or powerful enough (including allies) to do something like that, then yes, all is futile.
I am playing EVE very casually, and I am in a corp and alliance I'd call medium-sized at best, compared to what I see elsewhere number-wise. More like a small alliance. We still have sov, even if not a lot, and I am accepted and welcome despite my casual playing.
Aside from that I am pretty sure there is tons of other stuff one can do in EVE which has nothing to do with SOV nullsec.
Edit: grammar But the OP does have ONE point, and thats that right now, if the "endgame" for a group fo people is owning SOV, they have no way to do it without bending over and swearing fealty to someone who has "already done it". THey cant be new players, or truly fight and take what they want, because the doctrones and meta that drives nullsec is centered around massive coalitions capable of crushing ANY independent threat. Short of convincing every highsec missioner/bear to get into a pvp ship and head to null, no group could oppose either of the current coalitions on their own, and even with the numbers, they wouldnt have the supercapital advantage, an advantage they CANNOT gain because, and as evident by PL's exploits lately, any group attempting to build/buy a super without "nullsec approval" soon finds their investments in a fire. |

So how many groups out of CFC/N3PL can constantly field multiple full carrier/BS or BC fleets? Because thats what every third party would have to do conquer sov. |

Which is still easier to achieve than supercap supremacy by anyone other than us or N3/PL under the current system. Why am I repeating myself? |

Sov is just a burden, I enjoy being in npc null just to harass the neighbors and renters that have to pay silly bills to slap a name on their systems they cannot even defend.

Exactly
but it isn't even endgame stuff - it is more an intermediate progression. Lets say I wanted to provide a product to the Eve community which requires an infrastructure of a number of POSes in a number of systems. That is also fodder for the "bored supercap" blobs who say "no sandcastles allowed here" (unless you pay us) and the bigger the alliance gets, the greater their reach extends.
Now, I don't mind bribery and corruption until it affects me - then I will rant ... I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking |
