It seems the so called pirates dont know what the words griefer, ganker or pirate is, or what actions of one. seen some threads trying to explain this for the "pirate" ppl but they seem not to understand what it is. Making excuses like "creative shopping, carebear ect" Also are most "pirates" from world of warcraft kiddies? Pirate: Does something that profits them ergo not gold but isk, cargo and or ships and ransoming. Simple as that.. Ganking almost same as griefer: 1 or 2 and even more killing a player in an unfair advantage. For no reason in cold blood. No profit. Griefer: Destroying others gaming experience, making it misrable for others is their only goal. Without any profit. Killing that player more than once or just because the fun of it. start flaming kiddies, dont expect less from ya. PS. There's always an effect, and even if it is not a positive effect it is still enough of an effect to be a motivator. If you "grief" people in Eve, your sec status drops which DRASTICALLY changes the way the game must be played, and it creates player enemies unlike other care free MMOs where people are just slightly annoyed about being ganked "for no reason". Griefing is to ruin a friendly game, which Eve is not.

Sure when they pop your shiny new raven, it's an inconvinience, but that raven can be replaced by another. which you can then use to go and hunt the person who killed you, sure there is the chance of losing another raven, but hey.... everything in eve was designed to accomodate PvP. If you don't want combat, stay in empire. When someone enters a system below 0.5, they get warned. If they choose to ignore that warning, get popped and then decide to whine on the forums, they shouldn't be playing the game. -------------------------- I'm the Omega baby!

I never said EVE should be without them, better yet it adds spice to the game. In my experience it's usually down to whichever the victim feels like deeming them, or screaming at them I should say. By the way I'd love to see the dictionary you pulled these out from to be able lay them down as definitive, and kiddies? Come on. You can not expect not to get flamed with an attitude like that and such a redundant, pointless post.
