I agree, I run many intense 3D games on my hardware, EVE is the only one that CTD's right now...
I have an NForce 2 MB and use an FX5900 Ultra Vid Card. I also use Corsair twinbank Dimm modules...
I use a SCSI HD with an Adaptec 29160 controller.
I use the onboard NForce2 sound.
I only CTD about once or twice an hour on average...

AMD XP2000+ 512DDR Samsung, GF4 Ti4200 Creative, SB Live Value,Asus MB with an Ali Magik Chipset, Windows XP, all latest drivers,
never CTD.
Sometimes (rare) i freezed but that happen with every 3D game i played, so i think that came from my machine (seems that there's some minors problems with Samsung DDR and Ali Magik, i updated my Bios rencently and never had the problem again since, but as Freezes was rare, i can't swear it's over).

2.0 GHz AMD Athlon, 512 mb, Win XP, 64 mb GeForce4MX. Usually run two eve clients in windowed mode. I had problems with CTDs about 2 months ago, but changing some router settings seems to have fixed it. I only CTD about once a week now.

Haven't CTD in a good long while. Plenty of node drops/server crashes but not often an unexplained CTD.
Unless accidentally pressing the Windows key counts.

Hiya
I never ever have CTD ever :) this is my setup
P4 2.6 750 meg DDR 400 ram in 2 Dimms one of 256 and one of 512 An MSI 845 max 3 4 times AGP mainboard A 60gig 7500 rpm HDD A creative SB live sound card A 128 meg DDR Gforce 4600 8 times AGP graphics card (yes I need to change my mainboard) A standard floppy drive An LG 56 speed CR rom drive Windows XP home edition with all updates.
All the latest drivers for graphics (from Nvidia 45.23 I think) and also Creative (lvdrv pack)for the sound card.
I never have any problems ever. Oh and I run a 2 meg cable modem with Norton personal firewall and Norton antivirus enabled at all times.
I run 1280 by 1024 desktop settings and the same in EVE..
Hope that all helps

This looks like a campaign by Pann to me.
I have a configuration similiar to those posted here and I had a lot of crashes.
Maybe I was playing and not AFK-playing.

AMD 3200+, 1GB PC3200, GF3 and onboard soundcard (nForce2/ALC650). Windows XP, Detonator 45.4x.
I rarely CTD anymore, although I log by myself when EVE eats too much memory, usually after 3-6 hours. Depends on what I do.
So while I don't CTD much, the client still bugs out on me a lot. Heck, I mean, when CCP can't even avoid _visual_ bugs, I can't see how they would be able to solve the hidden ones?

I run usually fullscreen 1280*960 or 1024*768 windowed on a:
Asus P4XP-X motherboard using 533Mhz FSB P4/Celeron 1.7 Ghz 256mb DDR ram GeForce 4 MX 440 64 mb agp 8x using Detonator 45.32 drivers Asus built in AC-97 Soundcard 5.1 sound using SoundMAX Digital Audio System.
Windows XP Pro version 2002 (not SP1 yet) DirectX 9.0b 1 Mbit Cable Modem.
I have had maybe 2 or 3 CTD's since I started EVE about 1 1/2 month ago, and they all happened during the 1215 patch chaos.
My 2 cents contribution ************ I love Ore! ************ |

Edited by: Iece Quaan on 30/09/2003 13:53:26 I don't ctd either. I experience lockups on one of my machines, but that's a problem unrelated to eve.. it does it in all of my 3d apps.
ASUS a7m-266d mb 2x athlon 1.6 ghz mp processors 512 pc 2100 ddr geforce 4 ti 4600 w/128mb RAM using onboard sound i forget which detonator version i'm using, but it's one of the ms-certified builds. dx 9.0b 2k pro sp 3
runs great in fullscreen @ 1280 x 1024, or windowed @ 1024 x 768.

I've only had one CTD in EVE since retail began. Prolly had a 12 or 20 between beta 3 & release.
I run XP with the latest WHQL Detonator drivers. Here's a link to my hardware specs.
I play the game in full screen at 1280x1024. Don't know what else to tell you.

Edited by: Koda on 30/09/2003 14:27:58 P4, 2.0, Radeon 9000 (128 Mb), 768Mb ram, onboard sound and Win XP. I run at 1024 x 768, full screen with detail levels high. About 6 crashes since retail (all during 2-3 week period following a patch). Now rock solid.
My friend had an Athalon XP 1600 running on a Soyo board with 892 ram, Win XP, AC 97 sound onboard and GeForce3 and it crashed constantly (about every 15 min). He upgraded to an Asus board and a P4 2.8 now EVE never crashes. --------------
