Please consider giving freighters one low spot.
Thus they can fit a damage control, and the problem of ganking freighters in empire is solved.

No loot drops .. no point ganking it ..

And about empire gank, Unless I'm wrong, they require about a dozen gank BattleShips.
Easily spotted by a scout, eventually coutered by an escort. Corpmates ftw 8)

No ! Freighters have so much hull, because they have no slots. You cant have everything and this get you shall not.

To kill a freighter you need to chew through about 150,000 hit points, take or give depending on damage type you use, before CONCORD show up and kill you. Or, if you like, you need to do about 15,000 dps. That's about 15 neutron T2, Void L, Blasterthrons - and that's not guaranteed to work, either, so make it 20 to be on the safe side!
No, they don't need a low slot for a Damage Control. Not at all.

If they wanted them to have twice as much hull hp, they'd have given them twice as much hull hp. Ever considered that?

why not just put in remote hull repair, it would have zero balance issues. besides it might even spawn a new thing in EVE.... "Roadside Assistance".

Giving it a low slot would make expanded cargos waaaay overpowred. nerf haulable mass by like 20%, add a low slot and i'm happy, then you can have space or safety.
