First off please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong forum section.
Secondly I just want to go on the record and say Eve's Trailers are Intense and awesome. BUT.. Yes there is a big but there. C.C.P. has been moving away from the whole pod pilot aspect of the game. The last 3-4 Eve-Online trailers have shown pilots that are walking around in their ships and not pods. I honestly feel this takes away from the ORIGINALITY of the game and misleads any new subscribers.
With that said I would like to see C.C.P. go back to advertising we are POD pilots, Cause that is what we are, not regular walking around ship pilots.

Yes and no you are not born in a pod and you do get out of it at times, like every time you dock if so wanted...now if they start showing pilots in captain chairs in command bridge......

Face it, eve is evolving.
Last year it was New Eden everywhere, this year its New Eden on pc and expanded. CCP is focused on a single IP, soon you can;t think of EvE as the space ship sim you have to think of it as part of the entire IP. and thats not really a bad thing

I understand that we don't live in our pods and that we have the ability to move around in our Captains Quarters. We are still pod pilots at the end of the day. If your in Captains quarters and your are looking at your ship, Look to the left and you will see stairs that take you to your pod.
What I am talking about is the full blown ability to walk in your ship which C.C.P. has shown us when they released

those two do not need to be pod pilots SOE is not pod pilot only org none of NPC are.
or if pod pilots maybe they are just tripping visual interface so she do not execute mid trick on a damn thing.
much like you enjoying 3d view of a ship like proper pod pilot, but then you press f10 and the ugliest thing invented pop all over your view. Wink, wink.

What walking in ship? All I see are two pod pilots doing pod pilot stuff in their pods.I didn't even see them walk around. |

Indeed, we just see a pilot using a HUD to use the ship's modules if you want to call it like that... No walking at all... anywhere.

Ok They aren't exactly walking but They are most certainly aren't in pods. There is no pod that has the jacks that go into the back of their heads, backs or arms. But when the girl gets blown up in the video and they show her corpse she has those jacks on her but not while she is being shown hacking the terminal.
I am not trying to start a argument or a forum debate. I understand its all how you view it. I see 2 pilots not in pods with no pod goo and ships jack not plugged into them. I.M.H.O. those are not pod pilots and or npc. To me that is a marketing misleading on C.C.P.'s part.
I just wanted to hear your thoughts if you feel that C.C.P. is moving away from our pods.

What you see is the mental projection of the pilot. It will be really annoying to show a person in a semitransparent fluid with cables coming out of their head simply twitching from time to time, etc. wouldn't it? It would not convey enough emotion. Plus they will all be bald and floating in liquid so no characterization there...
The pilot you are seeing is what they see in their minds. The control interface projected by Aura, to put it simply.
If you notice - especially in the Rubicon trailer - when the "permanently-dying-in-a-ball-of-flame-lady" is seen one second going "Oh ****!" and she's - in what it seems, and what you call - outside of pod. But after the explosion you can see her corpse in space, capsule destroyed, the interface wires still wiggling around her... Get it?

I agree, that when in a ship, a capsuleer must be in a goo-filled pod. Tubes extracting everywhere. The "ever dying lady" is obviously playing EVE wrong. Which in my opinion explains why she keeps getting her ass handed to her. |

The "black void with an interface in front of them" thing is what being a pod pilot looks like to the pod pilot.
It's the exact same dramatic interpretation they use to get closeups of Robert Downey Jr.'s face in the Iron Man movies despite that his face is covered in a metallic mask.
In other words: that trailer IS showing them in the pod.
