People can just declare war on a corp and nothing you can do about it? So basically Bigger Corps can declare war on a smaller corp and basically hunt them in 1.0 space...just me or is this a bit flawed?

No I mean its good because you can use it to your advantage. But most games I have played that have allowed "guild" wars it took both guilds accepting the war.
Other then disbanding your corp is there any way to overcome this? Aside from hunting their miners.

bigger corps will rarely declare war on a small corp... unless you have something they want, and if that's the case.. well... then you're out of luck.. just like in real life...

Nope, if another corp can cover the war costs, your fair game. A little suckie I know, and I can see how it can be percived as griefing, but its what makes EvE special, the fact you are never 100% safe. (Unless you stay docked, but then you get no moeny, not fun either).
Have you tried sending a mail off to the CEO of the corp who decced you and at least see what its over? Tried to come to an agreement on ending the war? Are you actually at war or just asking? :)

The difference is, EvE's politics actually matter and aren't consentual.
That's the point of a war. To hurt the other bastard. Wether he likes it or not. It wouldn't be much of a war if you asked for their permission first.
However, if the wardecced corp accepts the war, the war is at no cost to anyone.

Yeah war was declared on me, its just a friend and I in the corp, we just started playing like a week and a half ago. I had a set of +1 implants and just had gotten a cruiser, not to mention I lost like a days worth of SP. Oh well though.

Hello!
You never asked us why we delcared war on you, but i will tell you. Last friday you and your friend stole ore from us, several times, and laughed in our faces and we couldn't do anything about it. You were even able to dock at the station, which i thought was impossible when comitting a crime. So, since we couldn't get you that day to tell you never do it again, we needed to go this more expensive way of telling you. you chose a pirates life and this is what you get.

When you die, you lose 5% of your highest trained skill, IF you dont have a clone that covers all your skillpoints. You should have one, at all times.
Eve allows stuff like war declaring newbies (not newbies in npc newbie corps though). You guys might have a hard time ahead of you. Sometimes moving to another system will help, specially if its a long way from the other corps home system. Griefers just want to kill people, and usually they dont like to travel 20 jumps to attack 2 people.
You can also recruit some more pvp oriented guys into the corp... to help with the fights. Or get friends to help you. Dont give up... fight back or avoid the fights and they will get bored. Hopefully.

Don't you love how griefing ore-thieves can get what's coming to them here? In other MMOs, you can have some scumbag chase you around, stealing your stuff, all day. To hell with em!

Not really. They docked to avoid the timer so couldn;t be ganked without Concord intervention. This provides a good method of getting back at them.

Don't listen to him. A lot of people share your view that it is flawed.
If Concord were any good, everyone would be immune from war in highsec. The present system is like bribing the police, only it costs almost nothing.

Under certain circumstances you are right, it should be harder for a corp to war dec another in highsec if there is little or no reason for it. It's true that there are griefers who do it just to wreak havoc with noobs starting up their own corps.
However, the corp who war decced the OP had justified cause and were not doing it to grief but to show them what happens when you choose a criminal lifestyle and steal from others who work hard for their income. They are not doing it for fun, it has cost them in ore losses and also the cost of the war dec and I wish them luck in teaching the low life thieves a valuable lesson about who you choose to p*ss off in this game.

Lol we stole one can of like 5k pyroxes ore, and we left the can their anyways. We were just out messing around.
I do kind of want to be a pirate, steal, pillage etc. Ragga lol we went outside several times, I believe you guys even blew one of our ships up. We are looking for PvP but a some what controlled state, we are noobs, so if we step out into 0.4 space we die before our warp is done.
The declaration of war is really dumb though. Basically it means I cant go afk with autopilot on, lesson learned though.

A short Novel in progress...
Andrago whatever your name was.
I just got a cruiser so was out for PvP, I went and stole a couple of cans and just left them their.
I took 7kish Kernite from one guy and 2kish Kernite from another. The guy I took the 2kish Kernite from started talking in local and I started talking with him. He told me he was fairly new to the game. So I told him I would give him his ore back if he hauled the 7k Kernite back to the station for me using his hauler. He agreed we formed the gang, I told him what asteroid field his ore was at and told him to go pick it up for himself.
Well he said he had to go afk for a couple of minutes. Well like 15 minutes later I got my hauler and got the 7k Kernite and logged off.
I log on a few hours later and get a message from the guy I took the 7k Kernite from. He basically was a very nice guy and asked for it back. I told him I had put it up for sale, and I wired him the money so he could just buy it because I was not in system. That was solved, this the other guy got in the message channel and asked for his ore back. I told him I didnt have his ore, that I had told him where it was and he was supposed to go get it. Well he wanted money for it, I dont mind giving ore back if you ask nicely, but me taking a loss because he had to go afk and then just didnt want to go pick up his ore I will not do.
I do not think I was being unreasonable was I?
But Ragga, I was in Velator afk warping, and get jumped by like 2-3 and then podded, very nice.

I dont know much about the declaring war thing, but im not talking about what happened to me. Im speaking of a flawed game mechanic in my eyes.
I mean what stops a person from creating a alt Corp, and declaring war on a few easy prey corps, and then say joining/leaving the corp on a whim to gank people in 1.0 space.

if it wasn't for the day wait for leaving one corp to join another, and vice versa, I might see your point.
but with that in mind... what exactly is the flaw?

I guess not, I was not aware of the day wait. Man the Devs are on top of this, but it does seem to me to be a little odd you can have forced PvP. But honestly that is one thing that I have always wanted in a game. Guess im just not used to it yet.

funny paradox eh?
but yes, if/when you adapt to the paradigm of PvP being truly not optional, and having a cost, and actions having potential consequences that actually mean something... its great.
the sense of real-ness it adds to the mix is a great thing, if you can adjust to the idea.

Forced into PvP is odd?? We all play a game that feels much better the more realistic the devs make it (so to speak), so, as in real life, If you **** me off, I sure as hell don't need permission to come up and knock you the **** out. Same goes for EVE. Just be careful when "goofing" around and stealing ore, as you obviously dont seem prepared to handle even another new corp, let alone players who have been here a while and will make you regret opening that can.... ======================== Entropy Tech. Exactly and soon you will see how great it is, and how crap any other MMO is with the lack of it. I still remember asking for clan matches in FPS games and get a reply like -"sorry we wont fight you, cause we know we are better and cant be bothered" or -"sorry our guy lost his internet connection due to an earthquake at the ISP, its the truth... bye" or "Hahaha you cant make us, lol lol lol lol" or "sorry you lead by 10-2 but our guy lost his connection due to some kid blowing up the power line outside the neighbourhood with fireworks in september", "he told us with his cellphone...
