Heyo pilots, I am currently using a AMD Radeon HD 7700 series video card, and while it works pretty well with one window, if I open up 2 or 3 EVE windows, not only do the graphics take a quick nose-dive, but it ramps up to sound somewhat like a jet taking off next to me. I am wondering if there is a nice graphics card in the $200-$400 range that works great with EVE, but more specifically multi-boxing it.
A corp-mate told be he was using a Nvidia GTX 780 ti and it ran like a dream.. however I didn't really want to shell out $700 for a video card (as my computer itself cost about the same). I am hoping one of you guys builds computers or knows about them, and I'll post my specs so you can give me good advice.
Thanks!
Current PC: Windows 7 Home 64-bit AMD FX-8150 8-core processor 8gig RAM AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series Video card Not much HD space.. because of steam sale *shakes fist*

The link just brought me to newegg homepage without anything selected hehe. However I do know about newegg, I was asking which specific card to get, if there was one that works especially well with multi-tasking or whatever.. thanks for the response tho! |

I am running with a GeForce GTX 760 OC 4G card and it runs EVE like a dream (240FPS).
I could run every game at max settings (@4x Anti-Aliasing) so far and I have tried a few. I went for a "Windforce" edition of the card which has 3 fans. This might sound scary and loud but the thing is that the 3 vents need to run at lower RPM thus generating less noise. It is surprisingly quiet.
~300 USD budet it is a really good choice, I have not regret it. . |

You can always just copy-paste the text (as opposed to the link).
And no, there's no special card that does it better than any other, at least not as long as you're talking consumer solutions. I'd imagine that specialist drivers using specialist multi-core cards, you could get some appreciable difference out of it but at that point, you're talking something along the lines of CAD workstations that will be horrible for gaming because they will be optimised for completely different calculations and since the software has to be custom-made to support that kind of split rendering.
For windows gaming, just get a fast, solid card, preferably without overpaying. So that newegg list actually provides a fairly good answer (except for not letting you skip the whole GÇ£oooh, but which one do I choose?!GÇ¥ bitGǪ ) GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Just FYI
A month ago or so I got MSI GTX780 Twin Frozr and it's running 3 clients nicely in 1920x1200 with medium temps under 50 Celsius. Although at the same time I did proper cable management, got rid of hdd and installed 5 case fans from be quiet! so that temps might not be only due to card's capabilities.
I don't think you need titanium version, Eve is quite robust and runs on much weaker hardware than gtx780. My previous card was radeon hd 6850 and could run 2 clients with same settings but temps got much higher up to 80 degrees. But again it was before my case was properly ventilated so... Gah! but I hate making decisions! haha. Ok, well I'll look around the list and hopefully fall in love with one.. I'm a total noob when it comes to computer components, so that's why I was asking for a specific card. I do like that one with 3 fans though.. having my computer scream at me is a pain.. I've actually considered drilling a hole in my wall to the other room and running cables though it to put the tower in the other room so I don't have to hear the fans >.> |

Look for Amazon WarehouseDeals as the seller. Most of the "Damage" listed is just on the box, not the card itself. I bought one this way and it works great. |

This. I'd recommend sticking with AMD if you've got a budget. Dollar for dollar you'll get a better card than anything Nvidia for the same price, and if you can wait for a sale AMD cards get some really good sale prices. Nvidia doesn't. Ever.
As far as noise goes that's going to depend on the brand of the reseller. You get the same thing with Nvidia cards. Less than premium resellers like PowerColor or PNY will be noisier than ASUS, just as an example. Wait, CCP kills kittens now too?!-á - Freyya

Ok, looking at the 760's because they are the right price. Hope that it's quiet and good hehe. There is one version with 3 fans, but there are many reviews saying that it broke after a few months, so going to go with the more popular 2-fan version.

I've got an Sapphire 7970 (overclocked AMD 7900 series) that has been performing flawlessly for over 2 years now. Can run 3 EVE clients at max settings. I've been in a couple of ludicrously sized battles in nullsec and never so much as turned off brackets. I never hear whatever noise it does make. Its in a big case with a bunch of fans and the CPU is liquid cooled. So it never gets very hot. I haven't found a game yet that I can't dial up the graphics to high. If we're not supposed to shoot pods in hisec, why are they filled with meat? |

Good choice. The same one I made a while back.
Also should have mentioned overclocking. Not as hard as you would think OP, so don't be afraid to factor in average OC's between cards and brands when considering the best value available to you. Wait, CCP kills kittens now too?!-á - Freyya

I thought that 8gig ram was pretty good? Pretty sure my tower has 2x 4gig chips, and room for 2 more chips.. If I was to upgrade, should I just buy 2 more identical chips to what I already have? or get some cheap 2 chips to boost it?
I thought that you wanted to keep the chips that you are using identical.. but that could have been a dream or my imagination.. looking on NewEgg, it seems rather pricey if I were to replace what I already have altogether.
Edit: Oh, also: how would I find exactly what the current chips are? just pop them out and write down a number? |

I'm looking at the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 right now.
A bit overkill for EVE but the first step into 4K gaming for me. The new 28" 4K monitors are a decent price finally and it is the future so I may as a well get started.
On top of that, with factory installed water cooling I may not lose cards to dust contamination as seems to happen a lot in the area I live. Plus you'll be able to run as many clients as you need at max settings if you wish.
