i believe there are a few old players here who have gone exploring, some has even seen most of the "wonders" in the EVE universe. This includes the old EVE gate and several other things which i have yet to see myself. Be warned tho, most of the things are located in slightly hostile or abandoned territory.

the reddish background with storms it's an already discussed 10/10 complex somewhere in low sec so may be really tought to reach there.
New eden and the eve gate, even when it's only a background in a single system thousands of players has approach the system and flied countless hours to be the closest one =)
dead end this system also hold one of the mysterious black monoliths (yep like in carl sagan novels) there is also rumours about 4 more one in each prime system from each race
Crielere can't remember wich system this station is, but was part of a long an old event where players fighted against guristas leaders.
there is some more system with interesting things, but i not had enough time to check them all =) -------------------Sig----------------------- The True Pirate secret |

You need to use your scanner to find it i cant remember exactly which planet or what it comes up as though you probably will recognise it once you see it on your scanner although it doesnt come up as black monolith

Edited by: Sadayiel on 05/07/2006 07:52:56 hehe all the new players wish the same see the tornado thing, i read lots of post about and everytime someone stated that's a 10/10 complex somewhere in low sec.
even someone said he was there but can't remember the right system, so far the complex seems to be true since the ruined stargates only can appear in deadspace pockets, and yes those tornadoes does exist in eve_never_fades there is short view of on of those storm but just bloody red wich looks awesome!!!
Oh and CEBE make links just don't post the images or Dev may gone mad !! -------------------Sig----------------------- The True Pirate secret |

Hi. I've travelled to the Konora system in Minmatar space, there is a landmark called Ginnungagap, it is a black hole which you can see from the Konora system, at least this is what we read in the landmark description. I can't see any black hole from the Konora system, it's possible to see it or this landmark it is only a description and a text?. Rekister÷itynyt Linux kSyttSjS nro 221083 Katso Gentoo Linux |

You can't see a black hole? You can't see an object that emits no visible wavelengths of light at all? An object which is, roughly, the diameter of a small city or town.
I wonder why you can't see it.

if im not wrong someone already spoke about that "black hole" it seems like a big black hole in the background (you can see it due the colourful surrounding background) and it seems that ppl can see it from several different system or so. -------------------Sig----------------------- The True Pirate secret |

Well, this is the text we all can read from the landmark "Ginnungagap" description in the eve map in the game: "The black hole can be seen vary clearly in the Konora system, located very close to it."
That is the reason of my question , the game says that you "can" see the black hole... -- Rekister÷itynyt Linux kSyttSjS nro 221083 Katso Gentoo Linux |

I have seen, something behind the standard nebula background in systems near Konora and in Konora itself. Don't know exactly what it is, i think it must be the spiral from the black hole... -- Rekister÷itynyt Linux kSyttSjS nro 221083 Katso Gentoo Linux |

Hey m8, i've never looked but I think that tornado is either the testserver or in the dev's private server
hope it's on sisi

well it could be that it's in Jove space.. cuz i haven't seen that kind of ship yet(in the pic) If it's in the dev's private serv than it's sucks...
I wish that th GM could clear some of the question here i'll continue posting the pics of interesting content javascript:bigscreenshot() |

Three words: Schwarzschild Radius Corona.
(actually, some more words in semi-random order: Object movement distortion caused by gravity, red shift/blue shift effects, gravity lens effect, mass falling into black hole at awesome speed, colliding and emitting light before Schwarzschild radius ... you can't see the "hole" but you can definetly see its effects. There should be enough nasty stuff to make it visible in the optical spectrum ) -----------------------------------------------------

The accretion disk around the black hole emits UV and X-Rays, not visible light. I assume that's what you mean by Schwarzschild Radius Corona, since I've never heard that term used and can't seem to find it used anywhere. You could only see the distortion effect if you were close enough and had an illuminated object behind it. Just having a nebula or something behind it would generally not be enough, as at stellar distances, the effect would be unnoticible to the naked eye.
Also, since the "surface" of a blackhole is not anything physical, an oject "colliding" with it would do nothing but be trapped inside and "vanish", only observable by the change it causes in the black hole's spin, charge, and mass. And even if it did, again, you would need a LOT of matter to collide and produce visible light for someone a great distance away to see it.

Ok, all this explanations about black holes are fascinating, but i only want to see the black hole from konora system. In the help channel ingame, someone told me that it's possible to see it from Konora and its sorroundings systems, i only want to know where i have to look at in the system, what aspect has the black hole, if it is a spiral cloud in the background of the system. Could somebody take an image of the black hole from Konora system?. -- Rekister÷itynyt Linux kSyttSjS nro 221083 Katso Gentoo Linux |
