As title, wouldnt we all last a little longer with a bit more cap, some ships fail to be able to do what they are desgined to do for very long... Blaster boats and shield tankers mainly.
Wouldnt it be nice if all ships got a bit more cap (perhaps not on capital ships )

I'm sure the NOS Domi's wouldn't mind a cap increase on their targets =P ---

shield tank is designed to not last long but be real good the time it lasts. About the blaster boats... well, the gallente race is meant to do a lot of damage, not to have thick armor, this is reserved to the amarrs, but i agree, a little more cap to the gallente ships could be nice -----------------------------

Yup i agree, and i use 800s constantly, but increasing cap boosters would prolly be bad.
I find that in a fight that lasts more than a few minutes (in even battles) you tend to die in some ships due to no cap left, while other less cap intensive ships laff their ass off. This is esspessally true of ships with no room for nos and injectors of thier own.
I agree not all ships need more cap, but a fair few would be a bit more on a par with their equals from other races.

I wonder how much a CAP 800 hvy electrochemical is better than a t2 cap recharger in a battleship+
Any ideas ?

Electro is 800/(12+10/4) = 55 cap/sec or even if you make the mistake of using T2 heavy injector It's still 800/(15+10/5) = 47 cap/sec
BS has like regen of 8 cap/sec without cap mods and ca 8*2.5 = 20 cap/sec nearing peak rate...
One cap recharger pushes the peak upto 20/.8 = 25 cap/sec or 25-20 = 5 cap/sec higher cap...
So even at/near peak rate, injector is about ten times better, but rechargers/relays/pdus/etc stack nicely and if you fill all your slots with them pve style then you might get some reasonable gain. Not very practical for pvp though.

The BS plus part...
If we take a Revelation with about 38250*1.25/(2771.70*.75)*2.4 = 55.2 cap/sec natural cap regen near peak
Then:
1x 20% cap mod gives: 55.2*(1/(.8^1)-1) = 13.8 extra cap/sec 2x 20% cap mod gives: 55.2*(1/(.8^2)-1) = 31.1 extra cap/sec 3x 20% cap mod gives: 55.2*(1/(.8^3)-1) = 52.6 extra cap/sec 4x 20% cap mod gives: 55.2*(1/(.8^4)-1) = 79.6 extra cap/sec
So even with 3x 20% cap mods one electro is still bit more effective on a freaking Revelation. If that gives you any idea how much better injectors are for short term pvp boosts

Cheers Woopie - you are the best :)
I was indeed looking at BS _and_ capitals on that, thinking that e.g. on a carrier it might pay off to lose the injector in favor of a t2 recharger.

From my experience I die mostly out of extreme damage rather then lack of cap, I rarely have that oddly 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 2 fights. People tend to roam in big gangs atm or inty/vaga solo.

Actually - what is the raw damage output you get hit by when meeting one of those big gangs ?
Just curious.

if you are unlucky you raom into 5 neutrontrons, facing 1200dps *5 = 6k dps
there are some that do even more...

A gang of 4 will push 1k dps at least, more like 2k though. ---------------------------

I usually don't go and check the math of damage, but when your 16k shield raven pops up after 5 seconds, I guess I still have plenty of cap. Well that was an extreme example, but yeah, most fights I've been, I got my tank broken with plenty of cap.
