a t1 frigate can kill a cruiser or battlecruiser. As long as they are NPCing. But a no matter what frigate (inty,AF,bomber) will never kill a well kitted pvp cruiser or battlecruiser.

Edited by: Sean Dillon on 05/07/2006 16:18:31 Ceptors are pretty fast making it hard for turrets and missiles to hit it, can take down a bc I think but its a bit harder cause it can tank better.
The main job for a ceptor is to warp scram someone while a budy kills him, without the ceptor getting killed.

if a battlecruiser has a good setup, a web, and a good pilot, the inty has less then 3 seconds to live. ---------------------------

I've taken cruisers and BC's down in my punisher (T1 frig) and I'm busying doing the same in my intercepter.
Just cause it's bigger, doesn't mean it's better.

Sha if some one had a PvP setup i highly doubt any frigate will pose any challenge.

It's simple really; The cruiser or BC goes out to rat so he fits weapons and tanking specifically for those rats, he'll be using longrange aimed to take out big targets.
Now comes the inty, that inty is set up for one purpose; killing bigger targets and is setup for PVP specifically.
In that scenario the inty has a very good chance of downing the cruiser and BC. If we're talking about a PVP cruiser (thorax/ruppy or the like) who are set for shortrange that inty won't stand a chance. So as always, it's not the ship or the SP... it's being prepared for the job at hand.

They fire punctuation to disable their enemy. You should be a perfect pilot.

Note that the crow is one of the most annoying interceptors to fight even if you are setup for inty hunting. It can stay out of most ships web and nos range. At the same time, it can hold you down and pepper you with ease. It's missles also work well against light drones. That said, interceptors tend to get kills because they can often dictate the conditions of the fight. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, an inty can take down Battlecruise and Cruiser. Its just matter of skill, tactics, and time.
Inty is affective depending on the pilot, and can be more of a support ship then just a scrambler. ----

Bah, almost no fitted cruiser / battlecruiser is even remotely threatened by a solo interceptor =/ The only thing I can think of is a long-range interceptor holding a short-range ship and killing its drones.

Lets say you have a rocket Crow with decent skill and are hitting for solid damage in the 10km + range. Then lets say you happen upon a Rupture thats fitted for travel (no web) and only has 2 hvy launchers for defense.
End result? You'll eat his lunch

I have solo`ed a Raven(!?!?) in a Claw Interceptor some months ago,and also battlecruisers/cruisers of various designs, its realy all about what opponent have fitted As some of the other players here said, set up right, a cruiser vaporizes an inty in a few secs, but if set up wrong, the inty pilot doesnt even take dmg from it Shiikala: "Shall we pod-kill?"
Ozkar: "Yea, always pod-kill!"

Edited by: Kashre on 08/07/2006 08:34:44 Yeah an interceptor would have a chance against a no-tank, gang setup, nosless cruiser or BC, or even BS really... but anyone flying something like that around solo deserves to die anyways.
Anyone who claims to do it on a regular basis is either lying, or fighting the god-awful dumbest players in eve. +++
