Amorex, use missles in a large pvp fight.. you have to reload constantly, half the time the "stack is busy" and it won't let you reload.. it's a constant laggy right click fest and very fustrating.. there should be an autoreload feature atleast for missles..
In normal circumstances, it's not that bad.. when more than 6 ships are present, it gets pretty annoying, sometimes impossible, to reload. I'm already using a very expensive method of attack, already stopping 20 seconds to reload, do I really have to have a ***** of a time reloading manually as well? If not automatic reloading we atleast need a BETTER INTERFACE for it. ------

Hmm, i think the adding a "hotkey" solution would prolly be best, it seems like this would be easiest to implement, but a better interface is definately long past due for all us missile users.
And this is what i like about jim, instead of just *****ing about it, he also offers solutions.

Yes, but it will be better to remove or fix thous lags in big battle with more that 10 ships.

Edited by: Kasha on 03/10/2003 17:15:53 YES, you can add my vote. PLEASE devs, give us the option to have auto-reload. Its kind of silly that in Eve, we have warp drives, jump gates, implants, clones etc. , but we still dont have the technology that would allow us to reload those missile launchers or turrets automatically. On top of that it can be REALLY difficult to reload the launchers manually if there is a lot of ships/drones around and your lagging.

"UU...let the dev make ships to fire automaticly and pick targets automaticly...uuuu...and make ships to warp automaticly....uuu...No better make a client run and fly my ship automaticly....

... What are you talking about? Picking targets, deciding when to fire, what ammo to use, when to warp, where to warp.... these are all tactical decisions. They require you to use your brain in order to survive and win.
Reloading is simple mechanics, and requires just mindless repetitive clicking. 'Tis completely different animal and i don't see any good reason to keep it....

Even tho lassie tells me this is one feature we won't be getting, I have to put in my yes vote. It's incredibly difficult reloading, even in small scale encounters that involve missiles. Usually takes me longer to reload my defenders than to fire them all.
Plus, having to constantly switch back and forth between highslot weapons and midslot afterburner/shield booster/armor repair/whatever is annoying and potentially dangerous, more than once have I forgotten about turning on the shield booster cause I'm busy managing ammo on the highslot panel and not noticing that the shield booster isn't blinking in the midslot panel.
I vote yes, but my money is on "no such luck mofo".

I vote yes as well.
It would seem weird that in a battleship with a couple of thousand crew members, the captain can't appoint a reloading guy to do the reloading and has to do everything for himself. Make the game realistic. Don't allow frigs to use auto reload, but ships with more than 1 crew should have that option. --- ...I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. What is EVE? Control. EVE is a computer generated dream world built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into a beta tester. |

Don't forget.. the Dev's were also against Autopilot in Beta too. Thankfully they came to their senses. _________________________________________________

Edited by: Red Six on 03/10/2003 20:18:03 I think the point Amorex is getting at is that if they fix the latency issues inherent to the large battles this won't be such an issue. Until they do however give me my autoreload.

I'll sign this one too. Also, add a [fast] reloading skill (rank 3?) which reduces the reloading time with 5%/level (8 sec @ level 4, 7.5 sec @ level 5). I wouldn't mind anyway.

Yes please! Either auto-reload or a reload all button off to the side there by the scanner or something. The current UI is slightly awkward to navigate in stressful (read: laggy) situations.

Another solution would be to be able to see all 3 huds at once (High Med and Low slots)
That way keepign an eye on your mids and still be able to right mouse click on the weapon to reload or drag and drop won't be as much of a problem ...
and as far as the stack being "busy" and not reloading a dif waepon right away .. just break your stack up in your cargo (yes i know its a pain but just think of it as part of your pre-flight check off)
I really thinking adjusting the hud would be the best way to fix alot of these issues even though i know it could be a lot more coding/cosmetic upgrades to the UI and probably won't see it implamented soon

Yup, I'd love to have a reload all / autoloading feature implimented, atm I only hunt pirates but it gets a nuisance having to reload my weapon after every single spawn and can take a while to impliment.

Verbal say's it's silly to let the Captein run down to the Gundeck to reload the cannons in midbattle. Yes the order to load has to be given, but you can train a human Gunner to reload on his own initiative when the Cannon have been fired.
Can't really say anything that hasn't been said in this thread. Would like to say that i'm all for a reload mehcanism. Bit silly that somethings can but others can't. As i see it the Boats we sail is not one man ships, they have big crews or are mostly automated. Humans wich have always been very clever when it comes to weapons and stuff you use to kill eachother with, would have invented the reload thingie before the warpgate. Just look at where the spaceprogram has it's modern roots...
now i Rample again, so sorry. Just wanted to say: Aye, give us that feature.

Mabye if you hit f1,f2,f3 etc and there is no ammo in those weapons, it reloads them with the previous ammo type used in that turret.

That's a brilliant idea. Simple, but pretty much the best solution I can see short of fully automatic reloading.

I too would very much enjoy reload hotkeys at the very least, though autoreload feature would be nice too. Speaking of hotkeys, why are there hotkeys to activate low slot modules? Maybe it's just me but I haven't come across any low slot modules that require activation. ______________

Yeah, at least give us a 'reload-all' button! I want to pay attention to the ships i'm blowing up, not the reloading of my 4 rocket launchers..
