Edited by: LLeonardd on 06/07/2006 22:19:55 Hey all i just started and Picked Caldari based off nothing other then Description of the race. Now i have been watching pvp video and reading up on what i can and it seems that caldari arent really the race of choice for Pvp.
Id Like to be in Pvp Specific ships as that is really the only reason i will be playing this game And have been looking at gallente and they seem to be a solid race and i like the looks of thier ships.
Is it possible to just switch to gallente now so i can utilize more ships for pvp even though ive started as caldari? (either way i still have a month of learning skills before i decide)
*edit* i should probably specify i prefer smaller ships although will use bigger ones when needed

Originally by: Skva Same thing happend to me. I started Caldari, got as far as training for a Caracal, then passed a Brutix at a gate.
One year later, I haven't trained a single shield tanking or missile skill since. Gallente 4tw.
If you fancy a change, best do it early. Though there really is nothing stopping you from training other race's ships.
Ya this is what i Keep hearing lots of caldari just go gallente and it seems to suit my tastes more. Also Tbh i would really really not like to have any pve influence in my decision just because i plan to do as little of it as possible :) thx for answers so far

Originally by: Arkanor I picked Gallente because of the Megathron alone, I saw one and wanted it immediately.
Most of my frigates are Caldari though, Crow FTW!
Hehe this is really the only thing holding me back. I really want to fly a crow/manticore (even if sb's are bad).
And to Noriath Ecm doesnt really appeal to me im more of a in your face damage type of person

Pick a race because you like the look of some ships, or a kind of strategy that appeals you, then learn how to fly the ships you like and how to put yourself in a position where your ship's strength are maximized.
The only mandatory module in this game is your brain ...
Yep that would be gallente then hehe thanks to everyone for the help \o/

With the addition of a railgun sniper, there is no reason to train any other race other than Caldari unless you just like the looks/style of a particular race.
For PVP: Crow Caracal Blackbird Ferox Rook/Falcon Cerberus Scorp Raven CaldariRailboat soonÖ
TBH its one of the best setups in the game. The sniping thing was never an issue tbh because you can always put a few turrets on a raven or scorp for long range. With the new BS there will be absolutely no holes or gaps in the Caldari lineup.

Ya im aware of the fact that caldari have decent pvp ships but TBH missiles just dont tickle my fancy and as others pointed out caldari dont really cover my playstyle as a in your face damage dealer. Thx for the tips though

Hawks are awesome to so getting one is a great idea. Then if you want to be a rail user you have the option of the Moa,the Ferox,Harpy,Eagle and that new BS comming in Kali.
Caldari are just the most well balanced race for fighting tbh.
No offense intended But from what i understand those are all sniping ships and tbh sniping doesnt really appeal to me atm but thanks for the info anyway :)
My main problem is i dont think caldari suit my play style im not much of a number cruncher cause ive seen all the ships used and pvp and know they are all good in thier own right
