I played POTBS beta for a couple of weeks and I can confirm many of their devs play Eve. It doesn't matter though, POTBS is nothing like Eve and is a terrible game all around.

I have been in PoTBS beta for quite a while and the only advice is this; don't cancel your EVE accounts just yet because PoTBS is epic fail.
Welcome to EVE Online:

I was following PotBS untill I read the message that they joined up with SOE. Eventough they promised that SOE wont have any influence on the development I made a promise a few years ago that SOE will never get a cent from me again. And till now I've kept it.
