we need to move TQ to a unicode client. this is something that is needed for kali now and has to be done
we are currently building a new client that will be made available in a hour or 2. with this client you will not be able to connect to sisi or TQ, but a new uber secret test server !!! omgwtf !!!!
we now have the following test servers
SISI 1 - TQ code SISI 2 - unicode - ipaddress : 87.237.38.10 :
SISI 1 is going to be used for testing hotfixes planned for TQ. SISI 2 is going to be used for testing the new unicode client. when we have put unicode onto TQ, we will then update SISI 1 to unicode and update SISI 2 to kali !!! omgwtf !!! once kali is in a stable testing state.
once we have uploaded the new client, we will be closing the gates to SISI 1 for a short time. no hotfixes are planned right now, so it is using the same code as TQ anyways. to connect to SISI 2 you just need to put the ip address : 87.237.38.10 : into the server box on the signin screen. then use your normal player account. like all the test servers, whatever you do will not effect TQ, but we are enforcing the rules and have not got time to be messing about telling people off and banning people. so bascially i'm planning more perma bans from now on to try and improve the testing.
as it is now, we need all bugs reporting on this client and they need to have screenshots, logfiles and reproductions. but as it is, the server and client are in a better state than i personally expected and after spending a few hours there yesterday and this morning, it doesn't seem so bad at all.
i will keep you posted and upto date with all the info as it becomes ready
the mirror is about 2 weeks old on SISI 2

the client is the exact same as TQ is now, but it's just in unicode. there are no changes other than that. and yes, please bug report as normal. sooner we get this on TQ, the sooner we can start looking at getting kali in testing

Originally by: Buraken v2 For us whom dont know compie stuff, whats the difference between "unicode" and.. "code" i guess (the TQ version) whats the benefits of using unicode instead of the TQ version?
basically the short version. china needs the unicode. it's too hard for us to manage 2 code types for the game, they really need to be the same. thats basically it tbh

Originally by: Blade Axattax hi - my windows vista disks landed on my doorstep this morning and i must say, im liking what i see so far (and im a hard and fast linux user). However the 'normal' (TQ) client is refusing to run - it seems to install ok. ive tried compatibility, ive tried running as administrator, ive tried installing to a folder other than 'progrma files' and combinations of the three.
is this new sisi client the 'eve vista' client?
and if not is there somewhere that i can get the vista client, or a patch/info that will make the normal one work
im getting eve withdrawals already
thx Scythe
There is no specific Vista client yet as the OS has not been formally released, there is however a "fix" that some people have found that works here ---

ok. just to clear something up. there is other stuff happening. we created a patch and it was bigger than the client, thats the reason for the client and not a patch.

Well I was on the new client for a while earlier, seems to be up now.
And what's up with the queuing system for logins?
yea, it's up and down like a *****'s pants. we kinda need it for some tests. as regards the que's, forget that. it's not happening on TQ
