Well I see this a little different here.
First we have to take into account the state of EVE that we live in. One where the majority of EVEs alliances are not allowing their members to post with their mains. They actually have internal rules against participating in forum discussions, with extreme censorship.
As a result of this, there is a ridiculous amount of alt posts in almost every post in these forums. Because we cannot see the origin of these alts (most times) we have to assume that they represent all the other alliances in EVE who support (by not allowing their members to post) rampant alt posting.
Therefore as I see it, BoB members do not flame/smack here more then most other alliances. Sure I would say that BoB do smack a great deal more then some less politically involved alliances, but in general not an excessively more then most.
"Smack Talk" and "Flames" are terms that while they have a definition, are used in a very general sense. On here what often is intended as constructive criticism, or a discussion between two foes even is always labeled one of these terms. I don't think that this is always the case though. Maybe we should look at a post twice, and think... "Is this so harsh a statement that I should loose respect for the person posting and label it flamage?"
Furthermore Just say that tomorrow every alliance in EVE tells its members that they are now allowed to post on the forums, with no restrictions other then use common sense. The forums would instantly fill with members voicing their opinions, and with todays standards and mind sets, a great deal of this would be "flames".
IMO BoB are doing fine, sure we have some members who have made posts which were unfair, but it is a low percentage of our alliance who are actually a problem. The no name alts post far more destructive threads/discussions than any BoB forum ***** team ever has/will.
