I just got my EON 4 in the mail today.
Interviews of Shamis and Verone should be fascinating read. And is it just me or is the ICSC Jump Planner ad on the back unbelieveably hysterical? Had me giggling for 5 minutes!

Perhaps you're on subscription and you were charged for the mag a while back?
BTW the poster you get with it is super-awesome, except that you really need a second poster, without the titans on it, they swamp 90% of the space and no detail for the smaller ships people actually fly.

I have to agree E-ON #004 is awesome
and that add on the back cover is hilarious
The Trinity upgrades article is mainly on ships but it also comments on a couple of other things
It gives more detail on whats going into the 3 different stages of Kali
It lists the top 10 most expensive ships (actually quite intresting to see those ranking imho)
all in all a great issue

The 'how to pirate' Guide is awesome (by Gentleman Verone) and Shamis's interview 'the ceo from snigwaffe' was like fascinating.
What especially drew me was the detail on Kali stage 1 - contracts, invention and the new ships/mini careers. Its very very easy to see why now that Kali had to be split into 3 releases.
Does this finally mean my research points will be useful now ?
Are T2 ships about to take a big tumble in price ?
Will anyone ever afford T3 ?

I wish the shipping method would be explained to us. It is odd that a UK shipped mag would arrive on the west coast of the US before the east coast or midwest subscribers would see it.

I'm midwest US and I got it yesterday, the 8th. I'm absolutely stunned that I got it 1 day after the announced ship day. Just completely giddy with joy! Eariler issues had taken a week or so to get to me, so hopefully this new insta-ship method they are using will continue.
As for the magazine, wow! Really great. So far only read the two dev interviews and the Biomass fiction (*loved* that Gallente Dragon fable) but the rest looks just as good.

EON-mag is just what the doctor ordered, as usual, and all credit to those concerned.
Only one criticism, the results for the issue 2 competition (design a module) are still absent. I know the guy who was going to judge it was ill but by now he must be well again or gone to the Great-Pod-In-the-Sky (and I hope not).
Anyone have any clues/news or have I missed something?

Not only are they utter rubbish, but they drag the mag down with it.

When the last Eon3 magazine went out, kieron was talking about how they wanted to send all of the mags to a place in the US before the actual release so the US could get the magazines faster. Maybe they finally did it this time around?
I wish i could get the mag, but im pretty broke at the moment :(

I have got to say it is my favorite issue so far. Probably because the poster came with it. That is just amazing to look at the ships size compared to each other. Really puts titans in perspective.
I really enjoyed Noah Ward's bio (p58). Nice to see someone start out as a EVE gamer and be invited to work for CCP for their hard and serious determination.

I chatted with Ian, the big cheese over at MMM Publishing, last week. He said the US issues went out on Wed and the UK/EU issues went out on Thurs. They wanted to try to get all the issues arriving at roughly the same time. Seeing as we've had a couple US West Coast arrivals already, it would appear his plan worked.

The mag was bliss to read from start to finish!
I especially like the player adverts rather than traditional, shoddy full page advertisments for pile cream or toothpaste.
I'am currently working on modelling some of the ships. I found the renders of the blackbird and caracal incredibly useful.
Is there a source of them, any more available to us mere mortals.
This is a serious request it would save me countless hours of modelling if i could have some reference pictures of the new models.

Depends on the ships I guess. Sometimes its more useful to talk about tactics because the setups can be so varied (battleships). For others the tactics are always the same, and the only difference is setup (interdictors).
Hope I get mine tommorow, but chances are it will take ages to arrive. Starting to think I should camp my porch and harass the mailman every morning.

Am I the only one who noticed in the Holy Trinity article that they are adding torpedo and missle launcher tubes to the ships? At last the missles/torps won't appear to be coming out of nowhere on missle boats....JOY!!! \o/

Best issue yet. The chronicles were both awesome, good work guys. The skills guide was a bit of a handful to get organised and ready for printing but the piracy guide was great to work with. Not to overshadow Tripoli's definitive guide to skills and attributes for beginners, which was very informative and helped me plan a mining alt of mine, Verone's piracy guide was without a doubt the best guide to date, including my own Tanking guide in issue 2.
I am very excited about careers. I saw mention of semi-random complex spawns, ship salvaging and others. I hope they finally expand hacking and archeology not only into a further subtree of skills with new uses but also into the game environment. Hacking deadspace gates to get to bonus levels on missions/complexes? Doing archeology on the destroyed ruins in a complex to find something rare? Anything's possible, I just really can't wait to see.
And already I have Zap breathing down my neck for guides for issue 5 ^^;.
EDIT: Oh **** yes, I almost forgot the map. Awesome map. I am thinking of getting a chipboard thing mounted on my wall and stick it to that, then using colour-coded push-pins to designate important places, even leave little notes on them. At a glance, it will be useful. No more "Where's Delekin? *f10* *wait forever for the map to load*". \o/

I've been playing since right before launch, but even then there's a lot to the story of eve that I just missed. Great work to everyone involved! I cant wait to get another year subscription ;)

I agree, the history of Eve is really great. I started browsing it and ended up reading every word. I was a member of Tyrell myself back in 2003. Not that i understood much of alliance politics back then... it was quite disorganized.

Yes, please, unless you want another #4, please wait until the site is updated before you re-subscribe. If you started with #1, wait until you can subscribe from #5.
The site should be updated over the next couple of weeks. Don't worry, there'll be some kind of announcement before then, a Dev Blog most likely, no-one will miss out.

Another satisfied customer here. Chilling ending to Istvaan's story, and really neat to see a bookend to theHerko Kerghans piece from a prior issue.
Excellent articles, interviews.
My only gripe is that occasionally some of the fonts get almost to small for post-puberty eyes to read easily. -small nit.
It was a nice surprise to see a bit of Biff Steel and company's Darwin project there.

EON 4 just arrived today 19th July (I'm in Europe).
I gotta say, when I first subscribed for all 4 issues, I did it because it would be *nice* to see a game mag. Now, specially with the level EON#4 has risen to, I could devour it bi-monthly.

Got mine Tuesday. Was dissapointed with the Trinity article. Aside from the amarr battlecruiser on the cover, there aren't any new images to gawk at. Only two pages and most of them screens to be the E3 ones, which are already somewhat outdated iirc. If not images, I was hoping to see more technical information on the kind of effects we'll see.
Ofc I blame CCP for not modelling the Sharlin-style BC first :(

I got my copy too, ordered it after reading all the comments and it's absolutely fab. It took about a week to get here (Holland) in a very nice protective bag. Loved the piracy article, now I have to put stuff into practice (it seems very daunting).
Are you guys planning on publishing a similar article on bounty hunting / mercenaries in the future? The 2 sides aren't that different but it might be cool to read about bounty hunter experience too. :)

Everything's sorted, plus I've realised something...
So, I received an email saying that the order didn't register properly and that the fee for the postage would be refunded and that I'd have to reorder the subscription.
So I do this, but INSTEAD of going to the order page that is linked to within the Eve Store, I went to the OTHER order page:
Go to http://www.eve-online.com/eon/ and on the right, click "Pre-Order your copy now". This takes you to a DIFFERENT order page (which incidentally allows you to start subscriptions from Issue 2 - the page that didn't work properly only allowed me to start from Issue 3), go through the order process and it should this time work fine.
Hope this is of some help to the peeps having problems.

Denmark shouldn't be so hard to send to, even with the postal services we have in this country. And there was no problems with the previous 3 issues. But hey, maybe they got word of what was in the envelope and decided EON was so great that they just had to keep it?
Anyways, still hoping I'll get it soon...

when u say start with issue#5 doies that mean the 1-years subscription is issues 5 6 7 and 8 ?

Just want to say to the customer service people and the peeps who made the magazine: great stuff!
I got my order sorted out on Saturday morning, and my 3 issues (2, 3 and 4) came in the post this morning - they're AWESOME! It's like finally have a manual/guidebook for all the things I never knew about, plus lovely little features and fan-fiction too. Nice map with issue 4 too and MY GOD, are Titans really that huge?!?!
To the people who haven't received their copies yet, email the customer service peeps with your order number, I'm sure they'll be able to sort something out. :)
