What concern is it to you if God should judge another favorably or unfavorably? Against thy own sins be vigilant, lest you become the man you would condemn.
Let the trappings of men show service to men; the fruits of the soul shall bear witness of service to the Most High God.

To Mr. Horm of the yet to be determined "if" heretical group of St. Tetrimon, I do not believe I have had the pleasure of dealing with you directly I however did have a brief run in with your late predecessor, Elata Ardo who's untimely death I am sure was a great personal sorrow to you, and stepping up to take his responsibilty was only done with great reluctance.
As to your petition I find it slightly amusing that you choose to involve the very organization you wish to overthrow, doing so reeks of a hidden agenda, have you been out of the limelight too long?, are you envious of my exploits? Did I call your former master a misguided fool? My favorite bet is you wishing to cause dissent in the clergy and powers that be, promoting your own vile cause and in the end replace the holy Emperor with another council of apostels - the very thing the Order of the Sacred Throne was created to combat and shows great foresight by the loved Doriam II by choosing me as bearer of his Cross, as I have seen through the fogs you have woven.
As to the wicked accusations of me falling from grace, was mediating a peaceful solution to the ISS vs CVA incident, a crime? I think not, anyone with actual knowledge of the events will testify that I was the sole reason for loyalist blood not being shed, under my employment from ISS. ISS wishes the Empire no harm, and sought to build a trading outpost on the fringes of our Holy Empire, for the benefit of all Amarrians. Dd I strong arm the CVA yes, did I bluff them threatening with violence, yes, most Amarrians who have not hidden in some godforsaken cave for 1500 years will consider these bluffs a virtue amongst holders and will merely smile at your accusations of threachery.
As to me being employed in the Mercenary-Coalition amongst the lesser races, then I am a free man, as I am sure you know there is no current Emperor, and I have had no word from neither Navy nor Court Chamberlain that my services are required, is it a crime now to pursue ones own fortune? Is it a crime to get greater understanding of how the lesser races think and operate?, can these tactical and technical lessons be valuable and help to improve our navy doctrine and hardware .
I do not expect a lowly librarian like you to understand the importance of such matters and neither do I need to explain my self to a snivelling rodent like you.
I call upon the Court Chamberlain who bestowed Sacred Cross upon me, on behalf of the late Doriam II blessed be his name, to judge if my actions have been wrong , and I call upon all my fellow knights in the Sacred Throne order to awake, the throne is in peril and the time to act is near.
I demand your full public apology as to your insults against my honour, or that you backs his words with action and duel me for the cross, being the rat pawed librarian you are I would adviced the first.

Golan Trevize is fully deserving of his award and still is.
Few Amarrians have done as much to defend our Empire as he has and nothing he has done since leaving the PIE and the CVA merits the removal of that award.
His actions during the ISS incident did leave a bad taste in the mouth from a loyalist perspective but as he correctly states bloodshed was avoided and no one was harmed. If negotiations had gone badly and he had actually taken the blood money of ISS to join his mercenary colleagues in assaulting loyalist Amarrians then that would have been a different matter - however that was a decision that he did not have to take - so we will never know what his decision would have been.
However, as someone who served alongside Admiral Trevize for many years I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that he would actually have taken such a misguided action.
While Golan does belong to an organisation which (while 'honourable' in its own way) has self admittedely got few scruples as to its customers (& therefore targets), I trust that as an loyal Amarrian he (and other former PIE loyalists in Mercenary Coalition) would sit out any campaign which directly impinged Amarrian interests.
I am not sure if the Mercenary Coalition gives its members the ability to refuse to fight certain campaigns on conscientious grounds - but being the enlightened employer that it is I am sure that it probably does.

Golan Trevize is a living legend to anyone who's ever flown a pod in service of the Empire. I have never in my life met a more daring, corageous, or quiet simply powerful comander as he is. Wether comanding golden fleets, or simply his own TES-Impervious Golan dealt fear and death to all the enemies of the Empire for many years.
That was a long time ago it seems now, but the memories still ring fresh in my mind. Like many hero's Golan Trevize eventually faded out of the story and became myth and legend. Though, he is still out there in the deep depths of space, he's a ghost to most of us still serving in the Empire, and I would not want to upset the past or its memories.

I find it apparent that Grand Master Horm has here attempted to defile the sanctity of not only this award given to Mr. Trevize, but that of any and all awards bestowed upon those who have been recognized for their service to the Amarr Empire. I admit that as an outsider I understand little of the ways of the Amarr, but to remove an award is much more than to take a mere token. Any award such as this places a certain value on the service it recognizes. Removal of such recognition without dispute of the service for which it was given does much more than to discredit its recipient; it devalues the service itself.
If you wish to call into question the recent associations and/or actions of Mr. Trevice, then by all means do so. To confuse the sanctity of an award with that of a rank, however, only raises suspicion as to your true motives for doing so and exposes the value you place on the services for which this award was given.

I would never force any of my people to do something against their wishes. People who are in my corp and the MC are here because they want to be. The Admiral knows this and should ever such an occasion arrise again, the choice would be his own.

So nice to see you get an answer to your question so fast Seleene. The Grand Inquisitor has shown you just how much free will they are allowed.
Hardin, you may want to rethink your position on whether or not Admiral Trevize would attack you. We both know he does what he says he will do and he said he would attack the CVA. One of the things I respect about him.
On a personal note, it's fun to see the mighty flail about headless taking shots at each other. Almost a year later and still House Sarum is leaderless. The Amarr throne is still empty leaving the Amarr without their avatar of god. A religious "cult" is now semi-legit and attacking heroes of the empire and getting serious responses from the ruling group of deacons that it seeks to ultimately replace.
Almost sounds like there has been a bloodless coup in Amarr space. Time to get some popcorn and watch things fall apart.

Trevize threatens to war on Amarr loyalists for the sake of some quick ISK and due to the fact that he didn't after all then thats ok then isn't it?
The mere fact he threatened war against the Amarr loyalists surely shows you he has turned his back on your beloved Empire. Such weak minded fools you are.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Due to his standing with the CVA, Admiral Trevize was the sensible choice to speak for the MC during the incidents mentioned. He understood the parameters of our contract and worked hard to ensure that the CVA understood our stance at the time so a peaceful resolution could be achieved. Whether he would have participated in actual combat or not would have been his choice. Threats and actual action are two separate things. -

It makes complete sense for the Tetrimon lot to attack a servant of the Emperor. You're just getting the cheap shots in because there is no Emperor at the moment! A low blow if ever I saw one from an Amarr.
So conceited, you Amarr, you'll attack each other?
Clearly the Order of St. Tetrimon are doing a DAMN good job at pitching Amarr against Amarr.

This one will run and run.
This petition is an unwarranted, unncessasry distraction from the true needs of the empire. Golan Trevize has proved his loyalty to the empire, no doubt he will do so again if the need arises. To cast doubt on his loyalty to the throne is an insult of the highest order. Grand Master Horm of the Order of St. Tetrimon, I respectfully request that you withdraw this ignomius rant masquerading as a honourable petition.
While your petition does not expressly say it, you are inplying that Admiral Trevize has abandoned the empire. You imply that he would betray his own comrades and instead of fighting alongside them, he would fight for the highest bidder. I doubt that 30 pieces of silver would convince Admiral Trevize to betray his comrades. In the previous confilct bewtween CVA and ISS, he assisted in th negotiations. Mercenary Coaltion did not seriously fight alongside ISS. Although having seen ISSN flying through our space (it was Huzzah Federation space at the time), thers no doubt they neded the help. I do not know of any incidenct where he fired upon the CVA or Aegis Militia.
If the empire was truly threatend, I know many freelance pilots and allainces who would come to the empires aid.
Golan Trevize I believe would be one of them. Money, power, honour, they are powerful succubi to the dark side, but I believe his true heart is with the empire, despite his current choice of employment.
But who can truly threaten the empire? Should Ushra'Khan develope a significant capital ship fleet in 9-UYH4, then maybe they would. But for now, there attacks are little more than the bites of fleas on a a long limb roe. Bar the occasional spectacular outrage, they have done little. If Snasha should rise from the depths of whatever hell he is in, then that too would be a threat. But there is little evidence of serious Sansha activity in our section of Providence. Maybe if The Establishment were to expand, the Nyx mothership they have would make them exceptionally dangerous. The Blood Raiders have been driven from the Bleak Lands, and there allies in the Blood Inquisition have become little more than roving pirates. Only pirates and terriorists, whose bark is worse than there bite remain to threaten the empire at this time. But times do change. Should they change, I think you know who would answer the call.
so again, I respectfully request that you withdraw this ignomius rant masquerading as a honourable petition. ++++++++++++++++++++ Founder member of the Huzzah Federation. Remember, the grass is greener on our side of the fence Widowmakers director Fear my kneepads of allure!

Expansion does not necessarily mean conquering space. And thats not what I was getting at. Space controlled does not equal military might. An increase in numbers backed by a mothership would move you from the dangerous to the extreme catergory of threat. As it is, that Nyx puts you ahead of Ushra'Khan on the threat-o-meter. (okay, it's a spud with two forks in it).
And that Nyx might be incredibly dangerous, but when I'm scouting, it can't hide. What did Ingnoramus scream on voice comms when the joint NOS, HF CVA and assorted friends gang came out of warp on top of him and broke his cloaking field? If we had had more time to practise tactics, that Nyx would have exploded. Sitting 30au down on the y plane and cloaked does not mean that your safe from me

Edited by: Ange1 on 11/08/2006 18:35:50 We are constantly learning what our Nyx can and can't do and as we do, our confidence in its use grows. Our Nyx did engage a joint CVA/NOS fleet the other day. I'm unaware of the exact number of ships, but I hear at least 20-30 ships (of varying sizes) engaged the Nyx over a half hour period or so. I believe a significant proportion of this fleet did not survive and only minor damage was inflicted to the Mothership itself. It has given us an unprecedented ability to engage much larger foes than us and I do not believe we have discovered its full battle potential yet. The magical number of 20 deployed Fighters grows much closer with each passing day
However, I'm almost certain that because we use it so brazenly (and one might say recklessly at times =P), we will be the first group to lose a Mothership. There is always the potential for the proverbial s**t to hit the fan no matter how prepared we are We unfortunately do not have the resources of an Alliance to protect it nor do we have the luxury of a heavily armed battle POS to store it if we needed to.
I'm quite certain that whoever does kill our Nyx, will be quite happy with the loot it drops

We didn't have that many loses. None in the system where we attacked, the losess occured camping gates in F-DT00. We lost a few ships, but nothing major. The next time it was picked up on system scanners, we mounted a gate defense at the only pocket it could leave from. Our losses on that occasion were due to incorrectly configured POS. (DED need to fix the fire control on those damn things).
I believe more recent incidents have occured. But those are the ones I was present at and actively taking part in.

I have had the good fortune of speaking to someone under whom the former Admiral once served. Indeed, Lady Vetinari spoke only of fondness for Trevize, both personally and of his tactical prowess. Though we did not speak for long, due to matters pressing, it is my understanding that Trevize was a true servant of your God.
Whilst my service for the Empire is unlikely to be enlisted, or perhaps even desired, I would fly alongside this man for such an endeavour.
Master Horm, I would not be so quick to emasulcate; such a servant deserves absolution.
