the way to kill gatesnipers? 5 inty pilots with high transversal speed. they won't hit you and you can come close to them in a spiral. when the sniper didnt move and you are in 50km range, he is dead meat. Being a sniper forces you to setup the ship very one-sided. you must go for max damage at highest distance. which i.e. bring the following setup in a tempest: 6x 1400mm t2 3x sensor booster II 2x tracking comp 1x tracking enhancer II 3x gyro stab II 1x RCU II 1x armor rep/wcs this setup lets you hit @ 211km (optimum + 1x Falloff) with a serious amount of damage. Best setup range here at the gate would be 180km. now lets come to the counter. 1 Interceptor with mwd and nanos + 1 BS as backup. (so all in all u need 2 people to just kill the sniper ship). - inty jumps in going for transversal speed higher than 2000 m/s. - set course for a spiral approach way. at 100km range you can lower the transversal and go more straight on him. - if the snipership didn't move when you are at 50km range go on for the spiral way. otherwise check the direction he is moving towards you and approach him (using his own movement speed as transversal to you) - if you get in 20km range you put 2 scrams on him and most likely the match is over already, because he won't be able to hit you. now you call your friend in the short range BS (most likely raven or blasterthron/AC-tempest) in who was waiting at a stucka spot close to the gate. he warps on insta to it, jumps through, warps to you on 15. put his 2 scrams on the BS, so u can warp out if u take damage of drones, he puts his NOS on the sniper, orbiting him at 10km and especially in a blasterthron, the sniper is toast within 1 minute). These actions take little more than 3 minutes (1 minutes for the inty approach another 2 for the BS support jumping in and toasting him) to remove the sniper from the gate and having some nice t2 loot in his container. And u can do this tacs even nicer with a cov ops and a short range BS. Always remember - the only thing a sniper has as advantage is his range. Once you came close, he is more fragile in his expensive ship than any other ship. So basically. No complaints to make bout "imbaness". Because it isn't imbalanced at all. Approaching snipers in inties just demands some "skill" as pilot and a certain amount of knowledge about "tracking speed" and "transversal speed". That's about it.
