yeah, they never appeared on the market before. Either because nobody actually put them up for sale, or because they were only added to the SCC list recently...

First they couldn't be put on the Market, then none one wanted to put them on the Market. I guess because they didn't know they even could be put on the Market.
Trade is still buzzing with M2's sales and demands.

The ability to place them on the open market has been there for quite some time. Also, they have been placed on the market. I will admit the small quantities placed on the market quickly disappear, but the prices I have seen have been between 4.5 and 5 million ISK.
This thread however doesnĘt belong in EVE general; it should be moved into the marketing section where it is relevant.

That was one of the things I found frustrating in the game - the fact that players would often not use the market as intended. Only the most basic of items would be sold on the market. You would have to go to the Gawd-awful trade channel (or have good in-game contacts) for the rest.
This is not so much a game mechanics issue as a player education issue. Use the market AND the trade channel instead of the channel exclusively - if anything you are widening your group of possible buyers/sellers.

... Am afraid it is game mechanics to large extent -- most of the NPC drops simply cannot be sold on the market for some strange reason... o.O

Check the Essence region market. There are always Miner II for at least 4,9 mil (sometimes lower).

Please, there's been miner IIs on the market since last patch when it became an option, most didn't miss this, we just don't care.
I'm also selling superconducters in Verge Vendor for 300k, come buy them!
Was that a market plug?

5 mil.. there not even worth it. Miner II's don't give much more ore then CU Vapours. I bought 7 Miner II's and see no difference in mining.

I find harvesters much more useful. Certainly with the price Miner II's are still going for.

If Miner II's aren't all that great then why did people go ballistic about certain Corps having a "great advantage" with them?

Before you buy Miner II turrets, keep in mind how much it takes to build them: About 40k isk worth of minerals, from what I've heard. And people are paying 5mil for them?
You do the math. I'll stick with my XeCl and Cu Vapors.

Personally I could care less but I believe it was because the blueprints were just a one shot deal, in that only a few were released in an event.
And unlike real life in Eve you can't design a superior product to break some ones monopoly so you simply have to sit back and take it until another system for dolling out blueprints is found.
I don't think most people are so concerned about the M2s themselves as much as they are about the distribution system. I mean just imagine if this was a frigate/cruiser we were talking about. Now even I would be upset about that.
As it stands I think M2s are just hype and the loot dropped miners are a good alternative.

Exactly, Alexia...
They are the best mining lasers available currently, but they just aren't enough better for me to want to pay for them. Especially when 2 harvesters mine as much ore as one miner II and cost a whole lot less. Harvesters can get blown up fairly easily, but I can buy about 35-40 of them for 5 mil.
Power miners funding a large mining op with battleships and CPU enhancers (they take a lot of CPU) can see some benefits from miner II's.. But people who do small ops or just mine for specific needs (like me) get a much batter ROI with harvs and even miner I's. I have CU's that I use (never bought them--got them from loot). CU's have a longer mining range, BTW.
Now I would happily loot a miner II off of something if it dropped from a kill... I will not buy a miner II until the price is at least as low as the cost of 2 harvesters. Heck... even if it mined as much as 4 harvs, the harvs are a better value.
