1. The SuperTanker - This is a typical PvE player, setup to be able to tank large amounts of damage. The idea being that if they can tank the spawn, then can eventually overpower it. These guys tend to fly the most expensive ships & Equipment. ->Flaws - The flaws in this system is because npc's dont really change targets, so somebody has to be able to tank it all. And if the guy can tank it, then why does he want others to share in the prizes?
2. The SuperGanker - This is a typical PvP player, setup for quickly taking out the opponent. This means minimal tank and maximum damage/tracking. Usualy they camp gates with a Smartbomb setup, as to instablast people before they leave warp, or they use a Sniper setup, aligned to gate and sometimes some WCS to boot. ->Flaws - This type of PvP is boring for the player, and boring for the victims. ->Bonus - The increase in this style of play has resulted in massive demand of blockade runners, and cov ops cloak recon haulers, which is something that for role play is a good thing. The new Smugglers are now in high demand
3. The Fighter - These are the guys that use standard close range combat, be it a bs, HAC, recon or whatever. These are to be cherished as this is where pilot skill counts. They will put up a good fight, and never use WCS. They will rather MWD out of scramber range than cheat themselves and their opponent out of a good fight.
4. The Coward - He who fights and runs away.... Heh, these guys are fighters but they gimp their setup with WCS so they can escape to fight again. These are also the type of people who would think nothing of dishonering 1v1's, inviting noobs to wardecing gangs etc. There is nothing wrong with this, since the coward is always richer than the man who loses his stuff fighting. Some of the SuperGankers also switch between this category. -> Flaws - People say WCS is a flaw, I would not. When taking on a Coward, you need lots of scramblers to cover his gimped setup. Its all subjective. And I say this as someone who gets really annoyed that people use WCS :)
In my opinion, we need to convince people to become fighters rather than nerf the other categorys. What do you think?
This post of full of generalizations and demonizing retoric. First of all, using WCS's is not a cowardly move. So it's OK for people to jam but not OK to protect themselves from jamming?
I love it how you don't think it's a flaw but yet you call it a "gimped" setup and those who use it are "cowards." Not only that, you go on to generalize "these guys" and accuse them of "would think nothing of dishonering 1v1's." Seriously, have you considered a career in politics?
Finally, I love this one, "In my opinion, we need to convince people to become fighters rather than nerf the other categorys. What do you think?" In other words, we need to convince people to play the way you play and the way you want them to play.
This entire post is another veiled attempt at demonizing a specific play style and influencing gameplay. A classic schoolyard tactic.
If people keep this up, I can see a day were people leave perfectly valid equipment strategies over social pressures.
If you don't want people to warp away then lets remove WCS and warp jammers.
