There is a bug where when you use your warp drive your drones just sit there and don't return to your cargo hold and then they get killed because for some reason they can't even fly around anymore when you leave.. well here is the solution! Make it so drones automatically return to your bay when you start trying to warp, and make them do it FAST, like when you tell them to engage target they fly FAST, like that, so they won't get left behind.

When I tell them to return they do it at extremely slow speeds compared to how fast they can go when they want to, and half the time they just sit there doing nothing. Besides, they should return when I start trying to warp, there is no reason for them not to.

Originally by: Mihail d'Amour Drones are still 'forgetting' they have MWDs on return to ship. I've had them moving absurdly slow and they like to keep dancing at 1500-1700m if you are moving instead of overtaking you and docking. I'm not sure why the return to ship command is so hard to get right, but it apparently is.
Yes that's what I meant.. it would be nice if they would auto return but I see the other guys point on that.. the problem is that when I tell them to return they don't they just sit there or they come towards me extremely slowly for no reason.. but sometimes they don't even return when I tell them to, they just keep "fighting".. I thought those were bugs..

They just need to fix "return to drone bay"
FYI, if you do not know..if you use "return and orbit" then use "scoop to bay" they actually work...fairly reliably
Thanks.. tried that.. it seems to work be less buggy then "return to drone bay", but they still come back very very slooooooooooooooowly.. and why even have "return to drone bay" clogging up menu when it doesn't even work? =/ If it's not going to be fixed may as well be removed.
