If you genuinely think IRON is a "bunch of noobs" and "safespotters" and "were the G sidekicks" then you probably don't really understand the history, politics or dynamics of the game.
With the exception of perhaps BoB and MC (in fact maybe even including these) you could find some post somewhere on Eve having one alliance smacking the other alliance as the above. You will always get some alt trolling the forums, stirring up trouble with an opinion that is so far from the truth you would give Mohammad Said Sahhaf a run for his money.
For most people, EVE is about playing the game and having in-game fun, for others it is about spamming the forums - mostly people having opinions on alliance politics from their mission running station in Motsu <insert agent system here> as opposed to 0.0
And finally, I think it is worth pointing out that there is a difference between being brave, stupid and clever. Engaing a group twice your size with similar BS/Hacs/Support is not brave, jumping in on them by mistake is stupid and having a scout ahead giving you all this info and suggesting a safespot, alternative direction is clever.
It's not about the winning, it's about the taking part as any average sportsman will tell you!

Edited by: SkankinRed on 11/07/2006 13:49:20 I agree having fun is the main reason people play games. But taking the easy way out or running from a challenge is retarded.
You may not always win, but you shouldn't run just because you don't have an unfair advantage to win. You should be able to take a loss like a respectable person.

Sometimes you do need to run. It is pointless to purposely lose your ability take part in the game. But when this becomes your tactics used in the game, you might as well of not even tried to participate in the first place.
You will never get anywhere always running away. You need to be able to stand up and take a loss, and accept it. By actually playing a part in the games you will gain more in respect and knowledge than running away and saving a few ships. You need to be able to lose sometimes, in order to win.
By running away/taking the easy way out, you are NOT participating as a good sportsman.

To me its all about tactics... and every fleet is diffrent... there is no fair fight... You do what ever you have to do to win... this isn't the civil war days... were not gonna line up and square off on the battle feild... if you see the need to jump to a ss to save a few ships & regroup then do it.. If your in a small fleet / gang 20 ships strong and Local jumps to 80 mostly hostile... you would be damn stupid not to hide...and jumping head first into a blob isn't being brave or respectable... Now Pirates on the other hand ..... Gate camping places like EC & ganking every poor soul that happens through... then running to Empire when a fleet shows up... But hey ! their Pirates :P

You assume that just because someone does something longer than another person that they know more. This shouldn't be treated as a given; although it should usually be reasonable to assume this. But in something like a computer game, this does not apply. If anything I have said wasn't true, feel free to dispute it. Don't dismiss a valid point because of an ego.

Another person dismssing a valid point because they have ago. If you consider a vets tactic of running away, and hiding everytime you don't have an unfair advantage a respectable tactic, that it just sad.

What "valid point" exactly? For all I know, this verbal diarrhea of yours comes from your typical armchair FC.
Ego my arse. You can check up on me, I've been in fights where I had an unfair advantage, and in fights where I was vastly outnumbered. I've been on the losing end to the point where I stopped counting, and I've been on the winning end even more than that. I've had stupid losses, and exciting kills. What about you, mister "main for this account"? Where does your credibility lies in this discussion? What makes you an expert? Why should we even argue with you? That's my point.

I am not questioning your tactics in how you play the game. I am talking about IRON's tactics. Don't get so defensive. I am talking about your ego thinking that you know more than someone else because you feel you automatically know more since you have been playing a longer amount of time than someone else, rather than how well you can learn in that amount of time.
Originally by: Razor Jaxx What "valid point" exactly?
I don't know how many different ways I can say this, but Running away, EVERYTIME, unless you have a huge advantage over the other side is not a respectable tactic.

This whole situation has been a bad joke. Seriously i have a bad taste in my mouth from all this. Dishonesty on both sides. No honor. Smack. Idiots. Turncoats. Backstabbing.
Rather pathetic really.

Again you missed the point. I didn't put forward my experience for justification or self-aggrandizement, but to make the point that I had indeed been through a lot of various combat situations, and thus believe myself to be a qualified participant on matters tactical. According to your character's age and experience, this is precisely what you utterly lack, and what makes your input negligible quantity.
Now, maybe you play another character who's a total pvp badass, and master tactician. Prove it to me and I'll graciously bow out, I can admit defeat (ego, anyone?). Yes, you can consider this a challenge, will you RUN AWAY from it?

Since this appears to be the brunt of your argument, and since you stress the word "everytime", would you please show me where in this thread is it quoted that IRON will systematically shy away from a challenging engagement? Having flown with, as well as against IRON, I can safely state this is a complete fallacy.
PS : Sorry for hi-jacking this thread.
On the original issue - NFC indeed showed up on numerous occasions to back up D2 forces, so I can understand the OP's (and others') ill feelings. However, assisting the Goons in an assault on Fade while being aware of the situation in Cloud Ring amounts to a clear act of war, regardless of events leading up to that point. Hence the inevitable -10.

Either you are lying to try and make an excuse for your altery or you need to kick off the training wheels and join a real corporation, one that doesn't senosr you. One that will just kick you if you make them look bad. That way you can be resposible for your words ad actions and be taken somewhat more seriously.
