Allakhazam.com is almost ready to launch our new Eve site (hopefully within the next few weeks). We have the database almost ready, and we are looking for some well written and well thought out player guides. If you are interested in writing up a guide, or have one you have already written that you want us to publish as well, we welcome your submission. Guides can be how to descriptions for just about anything of use to Eve players, newbie or experienced. If you want to contribute your knowledge to the community in this way, send us your guide at [email protected]. Thanks.

Allakhazam is owned by the business whose business plan is to sell illegal MMORPG currency/items, hardly a site anyone can trust anymore.
I would advise anyone to ignore that site.

Yes it is good. And it is owned by the same corporation as Thottbott.
I left a couple of MMOG because of certain links between ingame currencies and real world money. Money laundering is definately a good job.

Does EVE really NEED an Allakhazam/Thottbot site? There's plenty of EVE Item/Ships/Everything database sites around, including this one

Definately. Navigating in Rens is really hard to do without an external system map and a guide to the exact spawn points of npc ships (stations, gates, roidbelts ...)
Or maybe the GMs are coming down hard on Isk-sellers advertising these days.

I personally watched as allakhazam.com milked creative efforts, intellectual content and thousands of man hours writing guides and useful content from fans and paying subscribers under the guise of being 'anti RMT to the EXTREEEEME" only to sell out when the right cash was offered.
Parlaying all the hard work and dedication for content creation by fans into a great draw to their RMT ads.
I would advise against any True Believer eve fans from paying allakhazam.com any mind, and certainly don't put any effort towards them, they don't deserve our acknowledgement, much less patronage.

Having tried to use Allakhazam for another game, I can say its one of the more irritating sites to use just for practical purposes. It's very full of intrusive, animated ads and spawns endless popups with even more...

Years ago I was an avid Allakhazam user, my wife and I both had paid accounts there. Then they lost their focus, direction and ethics, and became like all of the other "fan" sites. They always said they wouldn't go that way, but here we are.

With 500 million plus page views a month, we are the biggest MMORPG information site on the web, and as an avid EVE player I can tell you that you will love that we are developing a site for this game. I've been working on it for two months now and I think you will like what you see once it goes live!

Well, you're going to have to offer more than just a db with a flashy front-end to get anywhere. Eve already has at least two online dbs, and the entire dataset is available to anyone who wants to download it anyway.

Besides... as others have posted... the Eve community doesn't need your site. There are plenty of other sites out there that DON'T sell in-game merch... despite the Google ads... with plenty of info. Lots of these sites even have the info in other languages!

I don't know where that spyware came from but I don't think it was powered by IGE.
Banner Ads were distributed behind the scenes. A single highjacked Ad and many sites distributed it - as had happened back then. They never gave out any info about it though.

i will never use Allakhazam.com ever again! used to use it all the time when i played FFXI, but after hearing you guys had a trojan on the website that stole wow logins NO WAY!
do a google search for "Allakhazam.com wow trojan"
they claim it was one of there adverts but seeing as there owned by an mmo currency selling website i doubt it

So let me get this straight....
Allakhazam is a pay site, money flows to parent rpg/ige (bad isk seller), ige(rpg) encourages mmorg "gold" sales.
Parent company profits from isk/gold sales, parent company bought allakhazam with some profit from isk/gold sales.
Allakhazam staffers (volunteer or otherwise) are supporting and promoting allakhazam and parent company rpg/ige.
Quote CCP:"You may not encourage or induce any other person to participate in such a prohibited transaction. The buying, selling or auctioning (or any attempt at doing so) of characters, character attributes, items, currency, or objects, whether through online auctions (such as ebay), newsgroups, postings on message boards or any other means is prohibited by the EULA and a violation of CCP's proprietary rights in the Game."
From allakhazam fourms "We are now owned by a company that owns a bunch of stuff, including IGE. They bought both of us (and several other sites as well) and then split us into separate divisions so that there is no interaction between them."
The fact that allakhazam clames that "there is no interaction between them" is BS of the first order, after all mr allakhazam cashed the check that rpg/ige wrote and allakhazam member $$ flow uphill to rpg/ige. This is like halburton saying "it's not our fault Kellog Brown and Root did it".
Allakhazam staffers have eve accounts > rpg/ige pays allakhazam payroll and EVE account subs > rpg/ige encourages isk sales.
Please start the bannings, now.

I'm with everyone else on this.
Once upon a time, back in the day, I bought an item in a game because I couldn't be assed to spend my time acquiring it. Later, I found out what such things do to the community and game balance in MMOs, and also reconsidered it on the basis of morality. Ever since, I've wished that I could somehow go back and undo it.
I will not support your site. As many have said, it's owned by ISK-sellers and has ads for the same.

Andyevil's(eveinfo) pixelated and broken (at this time) affilate banner is hardly in the same class as the multi million dollar horde of domains that rpg/ige own through various proxys, selling plat/gold/isk at the expense of the users (you and me). After i posted above i went on a mm hunting expedition, what did i find? In one system no less than 8 1 day old alts/? in tormenters in each of the belts mineing with a 6 day old hauling in a bestower.
We pay and play, they profit. I bet they don't even pay there taxes. |

I suscribed to thier crappy service a few years ago when I played final fantasy and even though I have jumped through the hoops to make them stop I still get spam email from third parties through thier site. They suck.

HOW TO P*** OFF THE ENTIRE EVE COMMUNITY
1. Post that your from a scuzzy ISK selling site.
2. Ask them to write guides for you FOC.
3. Charge players money for full access to the Guides you want them to write for you for free.
