I write this as a disgruntled victim of the lagfest that results from encountering the Goonswarm.
There are many threads running about the curret conflict and from them i have gathered that the situation has now been reduced to a pos war, with D2 having being unable to completely finish of the tenacious Goonswarm due to incompatible timezones.
Dear D2, there is a rather simple solution to all this, albeit a fairly expensive one. Hire a merc corp of your own who are active in the other timeslots for backup, send em after those pesky shield boosting ospreys.
They may charge a few bucks for the service but I strongly suspect that you will get your moneys worth out of em. Swallow your pride and call in backup, its a shrewd business move, although I am sure there will be a certain amount of flaming from the sidelines by those who have no real interest in the conflict. It wouldent see this as a weakness, I see it as adapting in order to overcome.

I am a flaming alt
But I will add a few other bits and pieces in order to make this post legitimate..
Does anyone else have a better idea than this for holding off the Goons?
Do you think alliances are right or wrong for hiring Mercenaries to do their dirty work?
Better yet, suppose you had the swarm in your own front yard, could anybody suggest a valid tactic to defuse their numerical superiority, this stretches even further...if you are severely outnumbered, what do yo do about it?

Holding off the goons is tantamount to holding your hands up to stop a swarm of bees, from what I hear anyway.
I don't see anything wrong/bad about a corp/alliance hiring mercenaries for their graveyard-shift, that's the whole point in mercenaries. If it works, use it. If it doesn't, you just spent a lot of money to (maybe) slow down the progress.
As for what to do about it.... find them a more lucrative target perhaps - negotiate a treaty and go swarm someone else together? Do as you suggest and call in backup? Target their logistics... you can't be a swarm of bees without wings. If it was any other corp I'd suggest infiltration, but being a goon myself I know they'll be well prepared for that sort of thing.
I've been reading the threads re: D2/GS with quite a lot of interest, I'll be interested to see what finally comes of everything over the next few weeks/months. ---------- I think I just had an evilgasm.... I think its a valid tactic, expensive though.
Also you need to find someone willing to fight the goons lol

simple solution d2 camp ostingille the route from stacmon is the goons main lifeblood from empire u cut em off there or put some pirate alts there u slow the progress of assets into the goonfleet HQ.
While youe at it also seal off twx-ei ive seen a lot of goons floating thro that choke point to hit 4c of late.
