sadly its not just Drones that argo Npc's any more I have had my Drone in bay locked 1 yes 1 mission npc that at 50km away with a 425mm L Protile weapon so no chance of hitting the thing but will argo him and he's group to draw them out but it argo'd all npc's in that section i have now lost 4 typhoons to this as the damage done by all of the npc's is so fast that the ship cant warp out in time

Ive been into detail many times before, seriously what is the problem? i do ALL lv4 missions without ANY drone related problems and have been for a good 4-5 months now.
I cant even remember the last time i had a full-pocket agro, and i solely use a dominix.

I dont mind hard missions, but having WC impossible is getting a bit annoying. I have a nice T2 tank (4 x hardeners, 2 x LAR, T1 CPR, 5 x eutetics, cap skills almost maxed, 2 x nosses) but there is no way for me to survive the bash in the serp stage when they all aggro.
Two options:
1) Fit 5x 250mm rails (or other guns you like i guess)+1x lrg smartbomb. Smartbomb the guardian veterans Shoot down the 4 brutix with rails Agro everything on the domi, with the tank youve mentioned you should be able to tank the 4 BS+gurista relatively easy. Go after the gurista first as the serp BS arent very good at tracking at range.
2) Run directly away from the gurista upon warpin By the time the 4 vets lock you down you will be ~160km away from the gurista Now just use the drones like normal and bring em in with just enough time before the torps are going to hit em. (only the torps reach >150km, and they wont agro your ship ever if your that distance away). Finish the serps then go after the gurista.
I generally use the 2nd route as i have to drop my tractor beam for option 1

I don't use them much now unless I'm on the last group of rats in the area. A good example would be trying to use them on the first stage of Angel Extravaganza. I could see them aggroing the unaggro'd group that is close to you, but not the group 40km away.
Drone aggro is bugged, period.

Personally, I have no problem with the Serp/Guristas WC mission as long as I keep to the Serp side. Seeing as the Guristas keep changing targets without notice it does not do well for combat drones. I prefer to keep my T2 drones intact as currently the BPO holders are extorting Drone users in Sing. (Hammerhead II's go from 200k to 1.6 mill? explain that to me)
I have had no problem with room aggro on any other mission, with the exception of SerpX last stage, but I know what to look for and scoop my drones as soon as I see the tell-tail signs.
I do like the "Caldari using missiles aggro'ing room" analogy. It IS exactly the same. Drones are the main armament of the Domi, and we should not be disadvantaged in using them. |

Last thread like this that I remember a dev said something to the effect that it was working as designed, because most of the agro was a result of drones driving into the agro radius of the ships...
However I disagree. WC L4 is certainly broken on this. I'd imagine there's some block of code that reevaluates agro when a new ship enters the area, and that's what's broken.
For instance using sentry drones *only* the first situation should be entirely avoidable. It isn't.
But really... why have drones draw aggro from their location at all? Drones should only draw agro from the damage they do... like missiles. Now maybe in Role Play terms that might seem less realistic, but let's be honest - the whole concept of aggro makes little sense in a role play setting.
Fortunately most aren't bugged and the dominix is still a useful ship... But just never quite knowing what's going on with drones makes them a lot less desirable.
