Edited by: Vandervecken Smith on 15/07/2006 02:37:26 LeMonde, a suggestion to reword the rules to be absolutely 100% clear:
15 Fights are limited to 15 minutes in the first round, after that fighting will cease and the winner will be decided according to Rules 16.1 and 16.2. If there is no winner according to these rules, a tie will be declared.
16 In the elimination rounds, fights will continue for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, if the situation does not appear decisive, here is the procedure that will be followed:
1. The team with the most ships alive wins.
2. If both teams have the same number of ships alive, the alliance with the largest ship alive wins. 3. If both team have the same number of ships alive, and equal ship sized, fighting will be stopped. Each alliance will then have 30 minutes to prepare an interceptor to fight in a 1v1. This interceptor duel will decide which alliance moves on to the next round.
How does this look to people?

Rule changes during combat is not a good thing. Some teams might come in with the plan to force a draw during one of the fights just to get the 1 point for a draw. Changing the rules (Or "adding" to them) during combat should not happen until next battle or even next round.
As I see it 2 fights in the first round have a questionable result due to rule changes during the fight.
Might be "good entertainment" but doesn¦t mean that it¦s good for the competition.

Jesus ppl, give it a rest, whats the issue? you came to watch over the countdown timer? rather than enjoy the fight and see if the pilot can tank it while slowly kill the other ship perhaps? 5-10 more mins wont kill you! especially as its fun ------------------ Tired of fleet combat lag? -Post HERE

Originally by: LeMonde I admit a mistake was made. Tomorrow, you can expect fight to end after fifteen minutes.
I also added a slight clarification to Rule 15.
if it was a mistake (not blaming for that as a mistake can always happen), it means that the fight will be declared as draw and the raven guy will have a refund?

in my opinion it should
1. every ship/module destroyed after the 15th minute be replaced. 2. declearing the tie
everything else would be unfair (1 tournament = 1 set of rules).

One argument I miss here is the following:
These teams are expected to do several matches in their poules, so even if he would have lost he would have kept te ship for their next match..

One of these days I'll buy you a beer and ask what happened with the Red Skull match.
Is it possible to get a draw, while in group matches?

Pretty clear to me what happens: At the end of 15minutes, if one team has more ships than the other left, the team with most ships win. If both teams have the same number of ships, it is a draw. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Oh, btw, tell Sharkbait I want another debate with him in SAK, please. Thank you. :)
