Dude, get a clue, you have no idea as to our fittings or any other teams except your own. If BoB did have the lowest DPS, then there would be fights that they couldnt break the tank of an enemy, but there hasnt been any. FACT.
Hi. Why don't you ask your team's tactician TWD about this so he can tell you that you're wrong and I'm right? It's so simple. You have a CNR with 7 cruise missile launchers. Your BC is a Vulture with 2-3 heavy missiles (which the ship gives no bonus to). Your Cruiser is a Scimitar, with no offensive weapons at all. Your dictor is a Flycatcher, which indeed does a bit damage with it's light missiles - but so have all other teams. Your frigate is an ishkur that can send out 5 light drones, and fire some guns as well.
But in the end, your cruiser class does no damage at all, your vulture is the choice of BC in the tournament with lowest DPS, and your raven (by using cruise) doesn't have an impressive DPS either. If you have your raven with 0 or 5 damagemods doesn't matter.
It is a simple fact that the bob team have the lowest damage output in the tournament. - And the best defence of all teams in the tournament.
As for that you are through: you've only fought 2 matches, against -v- that basicly folded and then an easy second match. It is very possible that in the last 16 you'll find a fight where there's 10 ships still standing after the timer.
k?
*edit* Don't get me wrong: It's very possible BoB will go all the way. You have very skilled pilots, the full financial backing, a team that has done their preperations, and a very good tactic. I just find your comments laughable. Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

It is explained in my last post on page 4, where I asked you a question you didn't answer. (about the IAC fold discussion)

You assume all in the alliance can run lvl 4 missions. You need to invest in them firstly and have enough skills and equipment to survive. I would estimate Ushra'Khan to be sitting on a base of around 35% members of less than a year in the game. These people are not rich.
On that fact, beyond the tourney, they is still a game to be played as well and most of our focus is there. The money you describe as being made 'easy' gets flushed away daily in our wars and having to deal with constant siege in our outppost system. Besides the CVA, how many other alliances with about 240 people have an outpost? We don't have high numbers on at the best of times and when we do there is usually a hell of a lot do do as well. Se as well as the money, there is pilot availability and practice times. Derran, Eddie and the rest of the team will have come from alliance related action to the tourney, and then right back to alliance related action again because we can't spare them all the time.
Watching EVE-TV it is clear thatmany alliances have sidelined their pilots entered so they can find a quiet system and practice 5 ship tactics with logistic drones and the like. Ou tactics didn't have the time to leave the note pad before the fight.
I didn't tell you to build an outpost, bro. I would have advised against it if you told me your assets and asked me if it were a good idea. Honestly, there are varsity pvpers here who formed alliances just for this competition. Red Skull, for instance. So if you want to devote all your assets to other things, that's fine, but you can't then complain that it costs too much to compete, when you could have had the money if you worked for it like so many other alliances did.
And SA only practiced on the forums. Between vacations, rl dates, different timezones, corp mergers, and carrier jumping 150 people's stuff out of Stain, we just didn't have the time for more than that.
Bottom line is this: if this tournament had been your top priority, you have the pilots and the skills and the earning potential to make it happen. It wasn't your priority, and your performance obviously suffered. That is what's to blame, if there's any blame required. _______________________________________________ "...which will become my sword in the very near future." "Bish, you don't have a future."

Heh, kinda embarassed to say IAC didn't practise at all before the first match either. We sortof meant to assemble a team for a practise fight but never got around to it, so we weren't as polished or practised as we shoulda been in the first fight..

That it's very easy to create a setup that can't be killed, ever. And watching 2 teams going at each other until next downtime wouldn't be fun?

The outpost was planned and paid for long before the tournament was even announced. Also, there are many, many enemies to contend with in our area. There are about 3-4 pirate groups/alliances (one of them even has a mothership) and roaming bored BoB, LV and other overtly hostile large alliance gangs that pass through the area that shoot anything that moves. If we were to save up to commit to the tournament, we'd be looking at probably a 5B investment or so because no one is going to be able to convince me that the teams making it through to the final four aren't wearing a full set of faction implants. The alliances with infinitely deep pockets that can easily soak up any loss suffered and will take every edge they can which is only natural. Otherwise you run the risk of being caught in an uneven fight against someone who IS using that stuff. And you have to be willing to lose the equipment as well because there is no telling whom you are going to be up against or what may happen in between the week (it would suck if the pilot with faction implants got podded). If you doubt it, look at the really low turnout for this tournament. I'm not alone in that line of thinking. The low amount of signups, not to mention some groups not even showing up, proves it. Judging by the way this tournament has developed, unless the rules are drastically changed, the next one will have an even lower turnout with alliances the size of UK not even bothering to sign up.

Band of Brothers vs Dusk and Dawn
BoB: Caldari Navy Raven, Vulture, Scimitar, Flycatcher, Ishkur D2: Navy Megathron, Damnation, Curse, Flycatcher, Ishkur
The Band of Brothers juggernaught rumbled on but showed its mellower side and plan for the tournament as their superior tank broke Dusk and Dawn¦s backs.
BoB went into the game unbeaten in the tournament although two victories were by default and anyone expecting a quick end to this were to be disappointed.
D2¦s Flycatcher was the first death and then the match settled into something of a long distance affair with both teams holding at their optimals.
Eventually the Curse¦s tank was broken and it became the second ship as D2 desperately tried to Nos away BoB¦s tank.
Next up was the Navy Megathron as BoB¦s superior numbers began to show and their more destructive side came to the fore.
The two other ships were relatively quickly mopped up and BoB eased into the quarters.
Band of Brothers won 5-0.

very disappointed bu LV performance, i really think they gave the victory to SA on a silver plate with quite a suicidal strategy. good job instead for SA who exploited perfectly the weakness of its enemy.
i'm also quite curious about SMASH vs MM, have SMASH changed something in their strategy adding a bit more firepower intead of the usual full defence focus? their tank seemed not as strong as usual and there where very few drones around their ships even in the beginning of the match.
very good job for other contenders... i'm eager to see MC vs the 5, that should be a veeeeery interesting battle :)

I would like to thank those that had a good word for the team of -v-. We are sorry that we werent able to do more.
What happened in the game with Atuk was something beyond our control and saddened us a lot. Next time we might actually have shield boosters on our ships just to be on the safe side as it was our set ups (- a Basilisk) were a bit too passive to be succesful
I would like to wish good luck to the [5] and the other teams that continue.

Now, I'm not exactly a fan of the BoB fanboi studio team and the smacktalk like Kayosoni's a few posts up.. But the work they're putting in just now downing that raven is great stuff. Ofc Jim was tanking by himself whereas dbp had shield transfer array on. Still pretty stiff damage from just 2 ships.

While I understand this sentiment, none of the earlier players that crashed got the same offer....
Edit: One player the CTDed in an earlier fight posted that the he got his ship (basilisk?) destroyed right away when logging back in, which is even worse than the "no offer" situation. --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |

Yeah, I'm not really commenting on the moderation. I personally have issues with a lot of the rules/regs of this alliance tourney.
The only point I was attempting to make was that my support for IAC waned when given the offer they refused to let the crashed pilot back in.

I hope the DVD from the Tournament will have quality, because at full screen, the amount of macroblocking is completely appaling.
It's not worth to waste bandwidth to watch anything as bad as this. Actually, "unwatchable" is the term that fits.

Not true.
If you see that there are different shipclasses and specializing in a Frigate or Destroyer is a realistic prospect, even new players would be able to join after a while.
You probably won't be doing the battleship class anytime soon, but mastering the small ships is a lot faster. --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |
