Eve TV needs to look to G4/Spike TV and get a hot hostess/co hostess.

That has got to be perhaps the most out-of-place comment i've heard today. Those posessed by such desires are more than welcome to attend to them with the aid of their favourite 'website' or mag and liberal amounts of baby oil.

your comment is very gross.
have you ever turned on CNN? MSNBC? see who the news anchors are? they are attractive young women. sex sells, even when it is in the news.
i'm not asking for women to appear with cleaveage hanging out all over- which is what your comment suggests.
morgan webb is a great example of what a gamer- TV host should be. classy, sexy, and a gamer! I'm sure SOMEONE at CCP has a hot sister.

Had an idea here-
Maybe this "hostess" can update the winners board?
Example would be like this
Team X-| ------Team X-| Team Y-| -------------- Team X Team A-| ------Team A-| Team B-|
This would be one of those things that allow you have a cut scene (so you can get questiosn off the web ready and what not) and allow the viewers to kind of follow along at home.
AGain, great work!

I think it would be interesting to have two channels. One setup pretty much as it is now. The other with a '**** oot' hostess.
All you 'right on', tutting whiners can watch the the channel with the guys talking about tanks and setup and the rest of us can watch the channel we really want too, where the main topic would be the lovely colours of the spaceships.
Put the kettle on, there's a good girl! Mine's with milk and two sugars love!

Considering that the "commentary" is right up there with John Madden's, I think I'd rather hear it from a few ladies. Most of what they say could be said by four cheerleaders wrestling topless in a wading pool filled with lime Jell-O.
"I dunno, does the Harpy even have a drone bay?" "Beats me, I don't think it does." "Well, then those drones might not be his." "Yeah, that's--Oh, wow, the CNR just exploded! It was at full shields! What happened?" "Holy smokes, all the other ships are popping, too! My brain's on fire, it must have been some exciting new tactic we didn't anticipate!" "Did someone set of a Doomsday Device?" "Oh, wait, no, I just left the yacht at 4km/s and am now 280km away from the fight. Hang on... Yeah, they're still just exchanging blows. I wonder if this match will be allowed to go horribly over time."
Imagine that with the current "Dudes on a couch" format, and then again with the "Girls gone wild" format. The choice is clear.

did someone say it need to be more like g4? oh my how i miss the good ol' days of techtv
i think its fine the way it is for now, but remember this is only the beginning. it would be nice to see some regular programming of maybe some in game news, and not just alliance stuff.

this is the wrong game for the obligatory token set of boobs for a sad 'gamer' stereotype. eve players actually get laid enough not to give a toss i should hope.

Actually - I think the feed was kinda blurry and the hosts were a bit underdressed. Whether one of them throws on a wig or not could be a discussion for another day. What I would have liked would be for them to look a little more comfortable and be eating / drinking more.
I would have had a projector and a screen and had the fight preparation and such displayed behind them on a wall. Then switch to the live feed as they did.
I would also have wanted brackets displayed on the wall and magnets with each team name moved as they won. The printouts in hand seemed primative. I suppose even a whiteboard with the winners etc would have been nice. Heck - I would have liked a board with the ship types as they showed up at the fight during preparation.
As far as a female - well - even a hostess available through voice would have broken it up some. "And now back to the live feed" for example. My speakers were not full spectrum so I did not get the lower tones as well as I would have liked. (that was my bad) So it did seem to drone a bit to me.
The seating might have been better with a table or more lazyboys and ditch the couch. They just did not seem comfortable.
That is the bottom line - it seemed "stiff".
The concept, the attempt, and the execution were more than I could have hoped for though and I am happy to even be trying to figure it out. I hope there are some higher resolutions to be seen next week - at least for viewing later if not live.
So - they did better than I would have done overall as I could tell there was experience sitting on the couch. For the newbies, please - less inuendo and more straight talk from the hosts. I don't know your nudges and winks. For all I know - one of you represented BOB - but I have no idea WHO you were.

Hmm, Slashdot featured EVE TV with a lot of comments on it being nothing but a sports channel for sad MMO addicted geeks with no girlfriends. Ofcourse I defended EVE, but this thread makes me wonder if it was all wasted effort...
I for one think the EVE TV coverage was awesome and one of a kind. Way to go to all the people who set it up and to CCP for hosting it! Sure, it would be even easier on the hormone riddled eyes with a nice hostess. Also, we could do with a little more humour in my opinion. Maybe get two hosts, one male, one female and have them prepare some nice material ahead of time, plenty of fun stuff on the forums and omgrawr to get some inspiration ;)
Greetings, Grismar.

That really would add a lot. A white board would make it easier to follow who was fighting when.

The reason that the couch potatoes seem "stiff" is that they aren't feeling all that comfortable.
It is scorching hot there with two giant lightsources making the place boil.
During each battle the couch crew was jugging down sodas to stay alive!

As for the eye candy comment a known PVP-er who happens to be female was invited but declined.
No doubt because she didn't want to be viewed as eye candy instead of being there as a top ranked PVP-er.

Oh - well then - fellas - drink when you are not talking - make it like The View or "The Man Show" and nobody will care. Honestly, we want candor and comfort over eyecandy out of Eve.
(However, I would like to see the person behind the tutorial voice - even though I disrespect the tutorial every time I am asked to try it again. Love the voice, just not being told what to do....)

tbh kiddo,
As a female (hides) directing evetv I will be there first to say that adding a woman on the panel might stir up something wicked (good or bad). I mean there are enough threads about the guys first of all.
There have been threads about a few unfavorable women comments, or what people wanted to see as.. and you stop and think about if there was a female host or expert how much flaming or drooling would muck up these boards.
I for one would love to see some female talent on EVETV and hopefully sometime soon you will get one. For the time being you only get me on the other side of the camera shouting and bossing everyone around, besides you know what they say about Radio djs only having a face for radio ------------- Director of EveTV http://www.eve-radio.com http://www.myspace.com/djxyliana
