Ok so im currently in a 0.0 Alliance and all i do all day is PvP, which is great! kinda...
Im tired of just grouping up, going out and killing in gangs. Its very rare that we get a fair fight, its either 10 of us and 50 of them +Capital ships or were out ganking shuttles on gatecamps.
Its also really hard to fly solo in 0.0 due to the fact that EVERYONE travels in rolling Gank Squads.
Anyway i was 'thinking' about doing some lowsec piracy, but it means leaving my corp and alliance who i have no problems at all with and im great friends with everyone, i just hate polotics.
My alliance is a 100% PvP alliance and theres NO reason for us to have ANY naps, yet there they are.... blue people everywhere.
Also they have this rather strange Anti-Piracy policy (the reason id have to leave). Personally i dont know why they have this either, all we do is PvP so why does it matter if its in 0.0 or not? Anyway, thats another discussion all together.
So, as the title states. Im a retard, help me to decide what to do.
Im tired of 0.0 fleet / gang combat, and i like being a pirate but dont want to leave my corp. What should i do?
P.S.
Im actually currently pirating, just not posting killmails but occasionaly i get a talking to from the Alliance Diplomats (My corp CEO doesnt give 2 ****s) warning me to stop it. If it happens again im out, which is why i need to make the decision.
No idea how they figured out im pirating in lowsec... im only -9.7 :P

Welcome to my world. Everyone ganks and everyone thinks it's skill. You can't escape it because now both empire and 0.0 does it. Lost my muninn the other day after I put down a phoon and crow solo in a belt. After that, 7 others warped in and ganked me 7 on 1.
Carebears are rich, powerful, and have concord to hide behind. They say we are easy mode but then again do we hug sentry guards? Blobs? Empire Astroid fields? No...
This is why I never fly anything in 0.0 anymore unless it goes 4000+m/s or is a ship with 7 low slots for WCS's. Then again it doesn't matter because someone came up with the bright idea of giving blobs ships that pop up warp bubbles on the fly.
Yay non-skilled alliances 4tw! You can only learn how to fight solo not ganked.

That's exactly the mainreason i decided to start a new char & a OWN corp and go with piratelife. To have been in a big Alliance and Corp i just felt it's to much politics and crap. Ending up loosing your ship in a fleetbattle is boring when you don't even see you enemies, and all that you can see is your shield dropping. however.. now can i do whatever i want whenever i want and we are having a good time. You should probably try talk to your CEO, or just find yourself a good corp that does piracy in a "good manner?"

I feel your dilemma. Until recently I was with a corp that was purely an industrial corp. I had a desire for more pvp and a go at pirating. Unlike you I am fortunate in that I have multiple characters that I can tailor to these different tasks but I still had to leave my corp in order to follow these desires as they were contrary to what my corp stood for. I had many friends there and I will miss working with them but sometimes we must change in order to grow, whether it be RL or in-game. So while I admit I'm a little scared I am looking forward to the new adventures that are sure to present themselves as I follow my new life in EVE.
It's time for a change in your EVE life and you should follow it!

You should do what you feel is enjoyable, because otherwise you will lose interest in the game. I think there is a fair amount of ganking in low sec too. And the gate snipers can be very annoying. But sometimes you do get a really good fight.

Thanks for all the replies. I think the only thing thats stopping me from going is my friend.
(Something i forgot to mention earlier)
My RL friend started playing EVE (Quit WoW for it!! Wooo go me and my recruiting skill V!) a few months ago due to my constant babbling about it. He currently has 1.8 million SP and is in my corp / alliance.
The only problem with this is that if i moved corps, he'd have to come with me. And if i went for the pirate life, id do it properly and apply for corps like Veto, Snigg, MAFIA, BnK etc but these all have very high skill requirements.
What do you think the chances are that they'll let me in with my 'Baggage'? (Not to be rude to my friend or nothing)

If you find a corp that is willing to take you in, they prb wont mind if you bring a freind.

If you apply to join Snigg for example I've been told you now have to go through the SniggWaffe (Unless you're an older member) and they allow newer players (so I've heard) in the corp and train them, if you've got the right attitude and so on.

Go for it. Exactly the same reason I never could stick with 0.0. But be prepared that low sec isn't the way it used to be 6-12 months ago. You still get a better chance of smaller engagements and 1v1s, but there is a growing tendency for blobbing. Might be hard flying solo.

what you also can do is to start training up that alt of yours and specialize it in one race and only combat and start pirating with it.

0.0 has its fun moments but try some piracy too.More 1v1 and small group stuff.Well unless you run into AP's.

The reality of the facts is that 0.0 isn't for everyone. I joined a 0.0 alliance corp a few months ago and thought that 0.0 would be the end of my searching.. the place I'd stay until (heavens forbid) I leave EVE and move onto something else. Turns out I hate 0.0. The rats are awesome, don't get me wrong.. but I get so bored NPCing, even in groups.
Every time there's a neutral/hostile anywhere near our space it has to be checked in alliance and coalition channels, then a gang has to be formed up, then *maybe* we'll go and kill them. On top of that the majority of these neutrals are flying around in interceptors, HACs and battleships. I either can't be bothered playing cat & mouse or I can't compete.
I took to low sec piracy. Luckily I'm in a corp which not only allows piracy, but embraces it as it's recognised that this is a game we pay to play. No-one dictates what I do as I pay to do it just as they do. I play this game for the explosions, the pod squishes, and I've never been happier.
In summary, I suggest you make the move.. try some piracy even if you don't stick at it. You might like it :) There are things other than 0.0 in the universe.

I've never really understood why people feel there is some immense skill involved with combat in the eve universe. Last time I checked, it's a strategy based system however, the main factors in battle outcome are: How Rich You are relative to your opponent(To buy tech II ships/high priced weapons/equipment out of the wazoo), How many skills you have trained relative to your opponent, what targets you cowardly decide to pick on "Oh crap, they have 2 tech II cruisers, better run. Oh look, here is someone flying a vigil... sucker!"
Nor do I understand why people get cranky when they can't find any defenseless targets or 1vs1's and complain about large blobs.
Eve is a galaxy revolving around 'galatic' domination in the space not controlled by the main empires. Of course people are going to blob around destroying anything near them. A smart person would gather forces to eliminate that threat.

I've had a chat with Shamis from SNIGG, apparently half the corp wanted to go 0.0 pirate and the other wanted to stay and lowsec or raid empire at the time, so they split with good spirits. Verone led that lowsec group to become Veto., and I've seen members moving back and forth from one corp to the other, so it seems (as of like a few weeks ago) they're still on good terms with one another.

Pretty much why I left to go pirate, but to be honest I have not had many fair fights. I've had a few good ones yes, but being an outlaw means "anti-pirates" will blob you, just like the enemy does in 0.0. Numbers wins I guess.

Yeah, maybe try flying solo out deeper in 0.0, not close to empire gateways or conquerable stations. You might fine miners or other people just "exploring". :-)

This is the typical alliance bullcrap they will feed you. It's not 100% PvP, it's 100% protect the T2(or otherwise) production chains. The people who run alliances that hold space hold it for a reason, resources. They recruit corps and "soldiers" to hold it for them, it's like a second job really. I bet you don't get a cut of the T2 action, either. (Okay, some alliances do this, but the one I was in did not)

They have the anti-pirate policy to prevent you from wondering too far from the areas they want you to protect because they want you to concentrate on people who hurt the leader's bottom line!

Do what makes you happy(tm). Seriously though, drop that zero and get yourself a hero! Train Corp Management and make your own little corp for a while, make friends and if you want, merge into a bigger corp then!
