Whats your favourite ship to use for fighting people in small gangs or solo? Im mostly starting this thread to see if there is one specific race that people love for this purpose, or if its more versatile than that. 
Im pirating in a rupture myself, currently.

I prefer the Jaguar currently. With a passive shield tank + AC setup you are immune to NOS spam. And Arty + Tracking Disruptors/Sensor Damps are also very nice. It just doesn't get more versatile than a Jaguar. Though I have had a lot of fun in a 400mm plate AC wolf.

I have yet to be beaten by anything smaller than a battleship in my Ferox. That said, since I'm training up Amarr, I'll most likely give the Proph a go. Oh, and Arbi for the win, as far as cruisers go.

Jaguar. Its probably the only ship I am skilled at for PvP except for covop (but thats not really combat). Flew it way before patch when almost nobody liked it and going to continue.

If it didn't align slower than a BS I would fly my blaster and rail astarte all day long. But since it does align slower than a frieghter I prefer:
Arazu: wasn't big fan of cloaked ships before, but I love the sensor dampner/warp disruptur combination.
Ishtar: What hasn't been said already?
Jaguar: Who knew the minnies would get a decent ship?
Megathron: with maxed out rail/gunnery specializations it does its job very well. 7.5% tracking per level 4TW!!!

I love using a different ship every day of the month, thats whats nice about eve so much. Used so far:
Taranis, Crow, Ares, Raptor, Incursus, Enyo, Ishlur, Harpy, Hawk, Thorax, Vexor, Exequror (holds a lot of cap charges :) ), Moa, Caracal, BB, Deimos, Ishtar, Eagle, Cerberus, Mega, Dominix, Raven, Scorp.
Best performance small gang: Cerberus, Raven
Best performance solo: Crow, Taranis
[Best performance fleet: Megathron]
I wish I could fly a Vaga (and I wouldnt waste any slots for wcs)

Usually it depends on what needs killin', tho 85% of the time I'm suicidal, not aligned, etc... that being said,
Megathron for fleet action (still don't have 425mm II, so it's at the little kids table atm) but 7 guns + 5 sentry drones pack some punch, too bad with engagements at 200 km+ that are norm nowadays can't really use it.
Cerberus cos I'm a missile lover eventho they suck
Ares when need to move fast (tech 2 shuttle 4tw)
Enyo cos it's sexxey and has more dps then my NH with 3 BCU's II
Wolf cos rifter was always the best looking ship in eve for me
Raven for npcing any day
Lately fell in love again with the merlin, wonderful ship.

Interesting that the Crow aint in there. Are people too scared to own up to it, or do we just have no Crow pilots online yet? :)
It's also interesting that all of those ships are Gallente and Minmatar. It's worth noting farther, that the Minmatar ships beat all of the Gallente ships (except the Brutix, unless you know what you're doing/are lucky) hands down 1v1 in most circumstances.
