When CCP Tuxford isn't accidentally the whole server, he sometimes sits down to write dev blogs. His latest one is all about new new corporation bookmark system coming next Tuesday (7 days!) as part of Crucible, the Winter Expansion.

We tried to keep this really simple for now. I for one thing that the role restriction is exceptionally clever. Someone in the corp can fill up your corp bookmarks with crap however everybody will know who did it. If you don't have the communication officer you will only be able to delete bookmarks that you put there.
The choice of communcation officer as a role was actually suggested here on the forums. I realize that it might not be a role that is ideal for every corporation but the idea was to keep this simple for now.
I fully expect that some people will try to "game" the system in order to get "instant bookmark distribution". We however didn't want to gimp this feature for something that may or may not be an issue. We will be monitoring the player behavior and if we feel that the user experience has changed to the worse we will act on it.
Note: The bookmarks have always been stored server side and always will be. The reason being that we can't trust the client to supply us with a valid bookmark and therefore we always need to do some basic check when you try to warp to them. It's only the folders that was moved to the server.

That's quite some pressure! I won't have this many new features to talk about every day after the expansion probably...but information will keep flowing at whatever rate needed to keep you guys up to date with what's happening

That is a good idea. I will add it to our UI Improvements list.

The Right-Click option should be possible. We have a task on our list to make a shortcut key to bookmark current location that will open up a pop-up where you can put it into any of your personal or corporation folders and choose a custom name for it, or simply hit enter as soon as the pop-up appears to quickly store the default 'Location' name to the default folder.

Corp locations can not be differiniated in the in space right click menu. Could be better.
Good but could be improved.
The current SiSi built doesn't have the full intended functionality, the update tomorrow should have the drop down including both personal and corporation sections with their folders listed as well, so you can save a Location directly into a folder. I can't promise it will go in tomorrow, but I'm crossing my fingers

We have in fact considered allowing people to share bookmarks directly. That is I could actually give another player a bookmark. There are a number of design decisions that need to be made. It is however to soon to rage about the ramification of such a change but it's a good mental exercise nonetheless.
You are definitely not the only person that has multiple bookmarks on each gate over multiple regions but are bookmarks really the correct way to fill your need? We use bookmarks now to get more strategic warp in points to celestials because that is what we have. Now is there a mechanic that would replace your need so people wouldn't have to have many thousand of bookmarks. Food for thought anyway
