Edited by: Lord WarATron on 18/07/2006 09:01:51 For some time now I have been wondering if there is any point to launchers on a curse. Let us say someone pops in 4 launcers and a nos, there is no point at all in this.
The only thing that I could see a laucher being used for, is a curse with a nos/neut and cap boosters to sustain the tank/neut. Even then, this is the assumption that the pilot is expecting to be ecm'ed and is using FOF missiles in addition to drones. I guess such a setup could take out a cookie cutter curse, sice the fof's will kill off the drones.
But anyhow, is there a point to any launcher slots on a curse given its NOS bonus? for PvE, I can understand, but why a curse to PvE is not something I can understand why :)

You could try setup a shield tank and use missiles on the Curse for PvE. I dont know much about shield tanks but maybe use something like:
4x Heavy Launcher 1x Medium Nos 3x Hardener 1x Shield Boost 1xAmp 1x Extender 3x PDS 1x BCU
I have no idea if this would actually fit just off the top of my head.

Quite funny actually, With some other modules i've had layout around, I came up with this:
4 heavy launcher II 1 Medium dim nos
1 Gist b-type Large shield booster 1 Large shield extender II 1 DG Thermal shield hardener 1 DG EM shield hardener 1 Domination (lol yea) Invulnerability field
1 Co-Pro II 2 PDU II 1 BCU II
Gives you, with my skills, 422DPS with t1 missiles and a load of 2x Ogre II, 2x Hammerhead II, 1 Hobgoblin II
I don't know, but it seems to be higher than what a cerberus does.. Or I'm totally dumb, Well i have my part of dumbness for even coming up with that.
It's not cheap, and it won't fit with T2, unless you want 2x Co pro II.

In most cases you won't need to have all five of your high slots dedicated to nos and neut.
Since launchers are slightly easier to fit than other weapons, it's often worth fitting one or two to increase your damage output or to give you some offensive capability once people have killed your drones.
I'm not sure that I'd ever fit four though...

Best offensive capability the curse has is to nuke the other ships cap as fast as possible and let the drones kill them once they can't run their tank. I would agree with the op that a launcher slot is pretty useless on this ship.

I find that seriously hard to beleive, infact, I don't. But still, Whatever floats your boat. I'd never EVER use this ship for PVE, it has the abilities to do it, like any ships, but it's just not made for it in general.

Oh, and... Assault launchers are better with F.O.F than Heavy launchers if your plan is to use them to take out drones...
Heh dont worry it was a joke. I would never dream of PvEing in so fine a ship - All my Curse's and Pilgrims are stationed in 0.0 to PvP in :)

As someone who PvP's and runs Complexes with smartbombs, I am well aware of their power. However smartbombs may blow up your own missiles if you are in a Launcher Curse. But yes, if it is a Launcher Curse vs NOS Curse, and assuming they both smartbomb each others drones, the Launcher curse then has the upper hand, since even if he is ecm'ed, he can fire off FOF's. The NOS Curse could easaly run away though, since the launcher curse cannot maintain scramblers if he has no cap, and a ECM cycle will break his lock. I guess even then the Launcher curse fails its task.
So I guess there is no real viable launcher setup for the curse then, unless CCP add a stacking penelty to NOS :) --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

Pretty much. Or, in other words. Khanid ships have missle launchers. Curse is a Khanid ship. Ergo...
IMO the biggest reason for it's launchers is game lore. Doesn't matter much either way IMO if it has launcher or gun hardpoints, in almost all cases exept a few exotic exeptions you'll mount nosses or neuts there. As long as ccp is not wasting a ship bonus with a rof or +damage ability for all I care it could have 4 snowball launcher slots.
