The other night, I did a little experiment involving capicator recharge rate, and was a little surprised at the resutlts. I figured that the recharge rate would be greatest when the capicator is fully depleted, and least, of course, when the cap is nearly full. I was pretty surprised to find that this wasnt the case.
Recharge rate steadily grew from approximately .05% per second at 95% full, to around .1% per second at about 75% full, to .2% per second at 50% full, and apprx. .3-.4% per second at 20% full.
After the capicator drops below 20%, weird things start to happen. The capicator recharge rate actually drops from this point, down to about .1% per second again.
Has anyone else noticed/studied this, and have any graphs/charts been made? I found the fact that capicator recharge rate drops after 20% pretty odd, and was just wondering if anyone else had anything to say or add.
Thanks, Nevermore

What ship are you in and what are the cap and recharge rate at?

Though I've not made any tests on this, I have noticed this too.
At least it applies for a Scorpion. But I guess it does for all ships.

When I did the test, I was flying a Megathron running a Basic Capicator Power Relay (-10% shield recharge, +10% cap recharge) and with a Medium Capacitor Battery installed (+240 Energy). Also, I had Energy Systems Operation lvl 4 (20% increase in cap recharge) and Energy Management lvl 3 (15% increase in maximum cap storage).
Pretty interesting that this seems to be happening to all ships according to the posts below. . .

yea, its not linear, your results are more or less correct, best thing is usually to stay just above 25% or so..if you reach 0...it will stay there for some time actually..which is not a good thing ;) __________________________________________________________ |
