Yea, I was just going to sugest that too. It is silly that a can, which is mostly empty space, does not get smaller when you take it apart ( repackage ).
Seems like an easy enough change to make and would allow them to be purchased in empire and freightered down.

either that or, because some stations dont actually have factories which which to build the forkers, have it so its a station function. i.e. you click "build some containers" on the station management panel and put minerals in somewhere..

been asking for them for ages.
they have at least now allowed courier mission shrink wrap into freighters, hopefully now they can either seed into the stations or a bpo for the station containers...

What is wrong with General Freight cans for keeping your hangar tidy? They take up to 120,000m3 and can be freightered easily enough.
OK, so they cannot be secured for use in corp hangars etc but you can get GF's right now surely?
