I was at work today and some dumbass couple left there child in the car. The police had to be phoned and a window broke as the child was practically cooked. I'm getting to the point where parents should be made to take a stupidity test before conception. WTF those idiots should be given a ... well god knows, what do you do to people like that?

FYI the couple where middle class white peeps in there 30's. Just dumb as dog**** IMO. As for the "hoodie menace" stuff. Quit reading the daily mirror ffs. Hoodies dont make a person a "chav" and "chav's" arn't bad people. They just haven't the personal kudos and self respect to go there own way in life and not fit in to one of the subsets in society. A bit like the people who wont fly with stabs on any ship no matter what tbh.

SIEG HEIL!
In all seriousness, as idealistic as some of these systems might be, they violate good genetic protocol. People NEED to **** like rabbits for the continuation of the species in the face of disaster. This is because genetic traits that would aid survivability in some individuals (e.g. a compentant anti-viral immune system) should the circumstances change (e.g. a supervirus spreads across your continent) need to be created and maintained even if not useful. The more ******* is going on, the more variations of our species are produced and this is very good for adaptive survivability in the face of distaster. Speciation is very very important and requires a large reproductive base.
Doesnt work in civilised countries with a civil support system. Those who are not optimally predispositioned for survival survive and breed and unfortunatly tend to breed alot more then those who succeed.
From a personal, humane point of view helping and supporting those who are either physically, mentally or psychologically incapable of being a productive member of society is the right thing to do.
From the point of view of the health of society and the species as a whole, we are commiting a slow suicide as our own artificaly created conditions are modifying our citizens on a very fundimental basis far more than any ugenics advocate could ever hope to. We are, unfortunatly, modifing the our own species with a trend towards the negative.
A very tricky philisophical question.
Do we take up active ugenics and risk the worse excesses that that can bring?
or
Do we carry on now with the passive ugenics of the wealthfare state and modify our species towards a slow degeneration?
No easy answer to that one.
Edit-Gah my spelling has gone to pot and i am too tired to correct it. Read my jibberish if you dare.
The greater question than this is that society is becoming decedant and comfotable. Unfortunately that means that the highestn achievers in society atm have a higher homosexuality rate and are more likely to have less children. That cant be good :D. We are approaching the same kind of social implosion that the roman empire had when it encountered similer problems. What can you say but woot! I dont care if society falls lezzers ftw.

If they upped the minimum wage in the UK so working would actually be more profitable, people wouldn't be tempted to do that. I defy anyone to say they can live on minimum wage here in the UK, it's just not possible when rent alone takes around 3/4 of your take-home pay. Add bills and council tax etc and it eats your income before you even get to think about the cost of travelling to work.
it will just precipitate a change in culture. In germany i think its something like 60% of the population rent or lease. No reason why we cant be the same. Previously rent was based upon a modifier for a 25 year mortgage. House prices will alter that in the near future with mortgages lasting longer, and for a greater percentage of peeps income. I have to agree with Drizit, in the UK the cost of living is rising, however, the minimum wage just isn't keeping up with that fact. I recall reading that in about 5 years they reckon that the cost of housing in the UK will increase by 50% so I can't really see things getting easier anytime soon.
