Originally by: Kasak Black Hey, I'm a 14.5 million SP character and all my EVE life I have trained Ammar, I have 7.5 million SP trained in Gunnery alone, I can do all the Tech 2 Large Tachyon Beams etc and rubbish that comes with it. Anyway, after 0.0 ratting, fleet battles, LVL4's and other various tests I have decided Ammar, and in particular lasers are a complete waste of time. But that discussion is for another forum entirely.
So, I have decided to train the ridiculously overpowered Caldari and the seemingly "I WIN" button that is missiles. So, I need some advice on which skills to train first, I would like to specialize in Missiles, using Tech 2 ones of course. But what is the difference between a Cruise Missile and a Heavy Missile? Should I bother training for Rockets? Are they any good? Are there any Caldari specific skills I should train up ASAP?
Cheers
To answer your question, A raven is a great npc ship, for npc you want to fit it with torpedos, and chain BS spawns like crazy. For PvP in small gangs raven is still pretty good, in that case you want to fit it with cruise. So train up both torpedos and cruise, and all the missile support skills to at least lvl 4. In fleet ravens are quiet poor, if i saw a fleet loaded with ravens i would attack at long range and by the time the enemy ravens concentrate their fire on one ship, the target ship would have time to warp out before the missiles hit. In fleet you want instant damage weapons, missiles are not that.
saying missiles is the I win button is very incorrect, you say you have 14 mill sp, 7.5 mill in gunnery, i would assume about 4-5 mill in spaceship command, and 1-2 mill in learning. This leaves bugger all sp's in engineering/electronics/drones/mechanic without good support skills your ship or ship setup will be nerfed, so i am not surprised if you are being hammered by your opposition.
And ask your alliance mates, being in an alliance means there is always help there, posting a noob question on eve-o makes your alliance look a little noobish.
