It is most interesting to note the more recent 2 entries.
The new Scythe! Flippers makes it oh so sectsy!
The new Burst. Battlestar Galactica meets duct tape!
Now I really love the 2 redesigns here. REALLY love them. I like the new ship designs in there as well. And since pretty much everyone here is a meddling backseat driver of the worst sort, I thought it would be interesting to see what ships folks thought need a facelift or redesign the most.
My prefs -
1) Augororer - it's like a cardboard box.....in space.....
2) Typhoon - Flying trashcans just don't do it for me. It, like the Apoc has texture issues as well but I don' think Asgeir, Patron Saint of HotnessÖ does that specific issue.
What ships do you think need a facelift?

The new Scythe lost a lot of its industrial look. Now it could be any ship type.
The Burst still looks like well, nothing usefull.
Phoon could use some texture fixing and a lil polishing. The effect when it is on fire stinks badly.

Meh they should make the Minnie shuttle the Burst if they think it needs a new model. And then make a new shuttle model.

First time I ever saw a moa, I thought it looked pretty awesome. Then I realised I was looking at the back.
Ugly as hell, please overhaul oh god:
- I don't fly any variant of it, but the condor hull is hideous.
- Augoror, definitely with the OP on that one.
- Crucifier... asymmetrical I can handle, but it looks stupid in this instance.
- Punisher hull... yep, I don't like it. Chunkier and more aquiline please, looks like a golden gallente ship atm.
- Caracal. Again, I don't fly any variant of it, but it looks dumb as hell.
- Maller, sac looks awesome already but maller has an ugly texture and dubious model imo.
Good now, but can't wait to see revamped version:
- All battleships and nearly all cruisers

The majority of the minnie ships... duck tape motif = fine, but minus the ruppie the vaga the rifter and ... the slep they all need an overhaul... I mean the Tempest is worse looking than the phoon
Galente ships... well letĘs see... mmm well they are all rather pretty.
Caldari um I actually like the MOA go figure. Just make it so the missile bays are like turrets and you can actually see them rotating and firing on the outside of the ships. Missiles spawning in the middle of my boat and flying out from nothing is kinda a pet peeve of mine.
Amarrian ships. I generally love them, 2 things I would fix, the maller (green eyebrows anyone? it just doesnĘt look right, the sacrilege got it right I think. The second is my personal pet peeve, the APOC, those spines that stick out of it like half finished parts of the death star look like minmatar engineering. I think just smoothing out the edges would do nicely as the ship has a nice look otherwise. I would also like to see the APOC's engines moved up so they are level with the center of mass of the ship... down where they are right now would be fine if the minmatar slaves they are using for construction contractors would fill in those gaps on the banana

Damn, is this just a fan work or something official? Excuse my question, but i would give a lot just to see some of the new models ingame.
And I also think next ship should be the phoon. Its just a great ship, that deserves some love.

I quite like the Typhoon model has it is, it only needs a bit of fine tunning, The Tempest on the other had looks like **** it needs a major over haul.
If think Minmatar where the last race CCP must of designed cause half there ships look unfinished and rushed.

The MOA...looks like a bionic turkey and needs love badly.
The phoon...would not totally remove its garbage can look but the front of the ship needs love. Big hole sucks.
The rupture...the ol' nail gun...I dont know but something needs to be done.
The domi...its pretty cool looking if you are comparing it to a dingle berry or turd. Its so bad ars it could look a little more intimidating

imo first a texture fix is due.
Once all ships are 100% fine the:
Moa, Dominix (sorry i think it looks ugly like a whale), Augurorer, Brutix and some t1 frigs (amarr ones all look alike and some gallente ones look crappy) need a fix.
The typhoon could need some love here and there but in general you get used to the look. All t2 ships are generally well done.

Okay, so I'm a nitpicky b@st@rd. I'll admit that up front. I also love my Punisher, it's so freakin' beautiful I had to show the GF, and she thought it was pretty too. There is just one tiny little problem. Look at the wingtips. Get an angle so you are looking at the flat side of the wing directly. The wings have a GAP between the wingtips and the wings themselves. Nothing connects these wingtips to the wings that I can see. I can get with the whole duct tape and bubblegum look of the Minmatar, even some of the godawful asymmetry of the Caldari (Raven, Condor, and Blackbird = super ugly) but hovering wingtips?
Just a teensy bit of lovin' please. Another dozen polygons would do the trick.

What ship needs most urgent attention for a redesign? Caldari ships. All of them. And Minmatar ships. All of those, too.
Jokes aside, though, Dominix is first in place for urgent facelift procedures as it simply doesn't fit with the Gallentean designs (none of them, in fact, are fat, round and brown).
Most simple thing is that Gallente T1 ships have primary colours between teal and light brown. The Dominix is dark brown (otherwise the primary colour for Minmatar ships). The "older" Gallente models also tend to have a drawn-out look verging on the vertical, the Dominix tend to best be described as spherical.
Quite simply, it needs to reverse-inherit some of the Moros' and Brutix' looks.

Awww but I like the old burst... The new scythe is evegasmic and i wouldn't mind seeing a somewhat improved Typhoon. (I just hope CCP retains the "made from junk" look that everybody just loves about the minmatar ships )

some textures could be improved but contrary to some opinions, tempest, phoon and auguror models are great. most minmatar ships have actually the best design in their class.

Nope. All get updated slightly (higher-poly model, new textures, etc), but only a few get a complete redesign (complete NEW model).

the crow, caracal and kestrel are in my opinion the only good lookin caldari ships,
i like the grey metal look,
but i think the weird blackbird is the best example of overdone nonasymetric style..

I liked the old Burst too. Oh well ;)
Ships NOT to overhaul: Slasher, Rifter, Stabber, Tristan, Incursus, Catalyst, Thorax, Megathron, Griffin, Merlin, Scorpion, Executioner, Inquisitor, Omen
Hulls that I like but others probably don't: Heron, Imicus (I love the bank of thrusters :), Probe, Crucifier, Arbitrator

-need rocket tubes visible (KESTREL anyone?)
-those magical tubes under the Hawk (or is it Harpy?) wings have to be fixed
Gallente:
-Dominix, as already posted.
-Thorax engine (so the trail doesn't go trough parts of the ship)
Amarr:
-Maller, please remove those DAM BLOODY GREEN EYEBROWNS! I'm against travesttis...
-Apocalypse, just fixe those dam bloody textures and remove the "spikes"
-Punisher, it needs to look more like in the icon and less like it does in-space...
Minmatar:
-All ships except the Rifter need complete overhaul (to look more like their freighter and cyclone, etc)
-Shuttle, the worse case.
Those are some of the worse graphical problems I can remember. Generally speaking the textures and models of EVE are not that bad actually. We'll see what the upcoming graphic overhaul has to bring.
PS: I don't like the new Apocalypse. Looks like it is made of plastic. And the spikes now are huuuuuuge.
