Yesterday i watched EVE TV and i was wondering how often do you actually see large scale battles between corps in EVE? I recently started playing and i'm not quite hooked yet. But if large battles is a natural part of EVE i just might stick around after the trial period runs out. :)

Depends. If you think five on five is large scale then you should see them quite often in a decently sized corp. However, large scale in Eve would be much higher, at least twenty versus twenty (some got up to over a hundred versus a hundred) but those usually happen only in wars between alliances. ___________________

Depends on your corp and where you reside. Some corps spend all night maneuvering into position, trying to outwit the enemy and then getting annihilated by a big fleet.
Fleet battles exist and happen a lot. They take a while to get going but once they do they can be great fun. The lag can be an issue though. I prefer skirmish style small guerilla group pvp for this reason, and am in a corp that feels the same so its all good.
If you play eve for a while though, large scale fleet battles are a 'must do' experience.

So where can i find such battles? Is there any general places where such activity occur? 0,0 security space i'd guess? :)

0.0 space, with the alliances. Check the recruitment forum for big corps who are taking people on. If you are quite new, Goonfleet may be an option.

Goonfleet doesn't recruit unless you have an account at SomethingAwful, if I recall correctly. ___________________

Once past 150v150 I could MSPaint the battle quicker than the client.

Join a big alliance that lives in low sec. Dont join a pirate corp, those arnt really battles as much as they are camping slaughter fests. Not to bash pirates, because I think their career kicks ass, but if you want some hardcore ass kicking PVP, look into joining a low sec PvP corp thats part of an even larger alliance.

Just left my corp the other day that was a Deklein resident with the Freelancer Alliance. Lemme tell ya, I have seen some seriously massive fleet ops, it can be insane..fun too. Really though, I wouldn't even do it if you don't have a higher end pc though, otherwise its like being a stick in mud. I play on a laptop with a mobile processor at 1.6ghz, mobile radeon 9700, 1GB ram. Jump into 3JN-9 with around 90 ships and the game just dropped to 0.0000001 fps for about 5minutes till the battle was over and people had warped to a deep space safespot. Very anti-climactic.
Smaller engagements with say 40vs40 or so were very enjoyable, even more so for myself in a T1 tackler Merlin with 2 standard missles bays. -Cammulos was here. |

5vs5 is normally a small skirmish. normal chokepoint battles are in ranges of 10vs10 to 20vs20. in an active PvP Corp/Alliance you have several of these every day.
though the battles in eveTV show only a part of PvP. ingame you have a lot more things to think about (enemy reinforcements, maneuvering into a better position, warpin points, finding your enemy etc.pp.)

Even on my mediocre PC, with effects + turret effects turned off, running at 1024x768 fullscreen, with GFX settings on lowest, i got around 15FPS in a 70 v 70 fight back with KOS / CHIMP ---------------------------

I've been involved in 20 ship battles with only mild appreciable lag
It's too cool to be legal for the most part. I've heard of bigger battles as well.
