Shooting large stationary objects with high sig rad will yield skewed results, although I am sure that you knew that already.
The only time I have every been popped in an intie by a BS (one-shot-kill) was when I bumped a T2 fitted blasterthron to keep it from warping. And I knew I was gonna take it in the face. Please don't imply that this is a common occurance to anyone other than completely inexperienced pilots flying an intie for the first time or someone suiciding for a bump. Transversal 4tw.
The only time that large turrets are better than missiles is when you have a situtation where you need to do enough damage to pop a ship before it can get to warp. All other situations missiles are a better option than large turrets. This is why tempests are so popular in fleets.
And in the first situation I put Megabeam II's on my scorp and it worked with no problem at all. Although I am sure it raises eyebrows on the killmails.

The point was to show that hit quality really do make a difference in "average DPS" counting. Not always for good (Optimal, Tansversal, etc) but that graphs with Torp vs Arty also was not for shooting orbiting inties.
Question is... how many sniper pilots don't know what to do with optimal and transveral, which makes hit quality better?

Now try to say that occurences of such situations is negligible, I dare you .

Once again, range is key here. Raven doesnt care about range and still delivers insane amounts of damage. Read the "Why Raven is overpowered" post btw. :)

Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that the ravens torpedos take ages to arrive in any long range situation. Which means at max range, the tempest has been pounding the Raven for 45 seconds before it ever gets hit. That is a HUGE advantage.
