Well I will not smack E-R, even though you ask.
Our past dealings in NBSI (with me being one of the "chief carebears" and you guys being the "let's shoot stuff" crowd) became strained in the end. I remember that Vent conversation with Cartiff where I basically said "if you want to claim space you gotta setup POSes, fuel them, blah blah blah". Two days later you left the alliance - and I felt bad - because we were not asking E-R to do that.
Since then I've made posts to the effect of "those guys have no attention span and their Ritalin prescription has run out" which may be true, but probably uncalled for - late night "Bud Ice" forum posts have a way of comming back to haunt you.
Now you have left D2 alliance. None of us expect you to provide a detailed "Post Mortum" as to exactly why - but some of us would like to have a basic understanding behind the decision.
Are you destined to be a solo killing corp and after a couple "tries" at joining alliances you are now comming to realize this? Is the desire to roam around the galaxy with no ties a larger driving force than the call to protect a homeland?
Thanks for any response you provide.
****take
PS: I came away with the opinion that Cartiff was an arrogant and overconfident carebear hater. Is it possible that I came to a wrong conclusion due to an EnglishAccent/confidence thing due to the fact that I'm a fat and lazy American?

It's maybe a bit of the British sarcasm rubbing off the wrong way. I wouldn't say I knew him well, but I know him a fair bit and he's a nice guy. He loves shooting stuff, but he's also very tactically minded and can clearly see the 'big picture'.

Hehe nice post ****take..
Well alot of hard feelings between OCC and E-R was there when we left, however I have to agree you were right in somethings but wrong in other..
And yes you are right in some point our attention span is not to good even though it has got alot better..
However E-R will still be a roaming corp you will never see us staying in one part of EVE to long..
There is alot of reasons for that but the most important is we will like to give the locals a chance to "respawn"
But alot hs change since the NBSI days and offcourse we also trying to evolve and we have.. But the fundamental E-R idea will never change and that is to simply have fun.. We dont care about 0.0 space and we never will..
Anyway good post ****take

Well, to hell with the past I say!
Good luck to E-R into the future. I may not understand your gamepley style but that doesn't make it wrong - I hope the sentiment is mutual. I hope you guys have fun - because afterall this is a game - and if you're not having fun then what's the point?
Lunas, you would be proud of me, I can "pone" now! Carrier drones assigned to a cloaked recon ship scare the bejesus out of folks. 1 man with 3 accounts each with 30+mil SP on each character and a carrier can make for some fun killing :)
Good luck to E-R.

I am arrogent, but I'm not overconfident, i know exactly what myself and my ladz are capable of and i sure as hell don't mind telling you. E-R has grown from a 10man corp fighting empire wars, into merc work, then into alliances. All through this we've kept recruitement strict and the basis of the corp on fun. Now we're over 150 strong, and with capabilites far beyond the "ganker corp" label we've had put on us. Do i mind being called a ganker, hell no, is it all i can do... not on your life.
E-R has its own alliance now, no more people telling us what to do, we follow our own destiny now, and ain't we having fun.
Feel like joining the team people, we have corps open to all walks of life. Join the TEAM

/me cant wait for E-R to claim some territory and get some infrastructure in place (an outpost would be sweet) so it gets to play defence for a change

I imagine E-R will be taking an outpost (or 2 ;)) instead of building one.

Take them/build them, I am not really fussed, I just want them to have something to defend instead of always being on the offensive.
I love/hate fighting E-R as they are very hard to fight and so its always a learning experience but often a costly one.
It would just be good to see how they go about defending systems/stations from aggressors as I expect there would be much we could take from it (aside from some heavy losses no doubt).

Did you guys already pick the 2 outpost out? I think that they have. Yes they will be on the defence soon. Wonder if they can hold BWF and 8MG time will only tell. But to be sure it will be fun to watch.
